Just got the new RHCP on vinyl last week when it came out. It was like $30+ and I'm not quit sure why which is a little annoying. It is a heavy duty double vinyl in a gatefold but there isn't even a booklet or anything just a lyric sheet. Sounds great tho, oh well.

  • Yay - the records I bought on my US and Canada trip arrived today! The package took "only" six weeks ... In Utero looks stunning in that yellowish colour! Spinning electric Ladyland now 8-)

I dig that Electric Ladyland LP. I bought that in the mid to late '70's.

I don't know how well this shows in the photo, but the Anthrax album is on a kind of marbled dark orange vinyl.

Mine is from 1968. Isn't it awesome that you can listen to stuff that old and it sounds as crisp and clear as on the day it was made? Gotta love vinyl :D

    lovely sounding early pressing

    220px-DMviolator.jpg

replacement copy bought for £1 - one of my earliest pieces of vinyl in my collection, bought aged 16, went to play it the other day....... :?

    ROBERT_CALVERT--Captain_Lockheed_AND_The_Starfighters_front.jpg

this was the real highlight of today's find - £1 - this is a pretty rare record! Have been looking out for some Robert Calvert for a while now - was looking at the reissues of his solo albums at a record fair the other week, but they were v pricey, and digital remasters, so I said no. Haven't played this yet - hoping it sounds alright, I don't know his solo stuff yet, but he's my favourite member of Hawkwind - a real eccentric, great lyricist and vocalist in the vein of other mad eccentric englishmen (Syd Barrett, Ray Davies etc) they make me feel at home! ;)

Last night I hit the jackpot, I'll try to post photos when I get home this evening. From a record shop in DC (JointCustody):

Metallica Master of Puppets 2xLP Music For Nations
Metallica Creeping Death 12" Gold single (2nd copy I've found in a week)
Nirvana Unplugged White Vinyl (94 release)
    Nirvana The SubPop Sessions
    Pearl Jam No Code
    Pearl Jam Binural
    Pearl Jam Riot Act

They had Vs. (OP), but I figured I'd leave it for another fan.

The white one is an Eagles of Death Metal lp. And I heard it's rather rare :) The Nirvana lp is In Utero and it's yellowish. It was about twenty bucks, I think ...

By the way - congrats on your PJ purchases, you lucky dog

Nirvana The SubPop Sessions - $30
Pearl Jam No Code - $48
    Pearl Jam Binural - $115
Pearl Jam Riot Act - $120

After tax it was $425. This was at Joint Custody Records in DC. The place is legit.

Thanks, the guys at the record shop are awesome and shot me an email when this stuff came in. They said some PJ stuff, I figured it would be 45s, I had no idea. The jackets are in VG shape, Riot act is in NM shape. I thought I was lucky when I found an original Vitaolgy for $20 in Ft. Myers, this is even sweeter.

Just got these in the mail..
    2011-11-03135540-1.jpg
    - Dinosaur Jr, Farm
    - James Jackson Toth, Waiting In Vain
    - The Skull Defekts, 2013-3012 ...Side 2 of this one has the same songs as side 1 only they play backwards and you have to drop the needle on what would be the end of the record so it tracks from the inside out..

Did you Farm come with the poster and 7"? Great album by the way enjoy.

I am really interested in the Lateralus picture disc 2lp's that seem to be floating around recently. It would appear they have become available recently. Been checking them out and apparently they aren't fake either. Checked out a Tool site that had a list of fake vinyl, which is sourced from MP3's or a retail Cd. The anemia coloured vinyls are fake and any 10,000 days are fake as they never pressed any vinyl for this.
  • What is the one in your signature, jshin - is that an actual record?

Looks like there are quite a few copies of Lateralus on the Bay for like $40-50 right now. I really want that LP, badly, but just ain't been able to bite the bullet for that price. I'm cheap.

    *Edit*

Just went to Amazon and it looks like it's only $30 on there. That's pretty damn tempting.

No poster or 7" with my Farm.. Must have been a limited deal..

Leez, that's the Grinderman, Palace of Montezuma
12" single with the crazy splatter colored vinyl. Those are the actual colors, I just messed with my picture in photobucket..

    That sig looks cool!

Just listening to the Sticky Fingers I picked up the other week - got a great dirty rock and roll sound to it compared to the CD, where it all sounds a lot more polished.

It doesn't. The crappy sound of this vinyl has been discussed a lot around here.

Speaking of the TOOL vinyl, I recently found a clear copy of Undertow at a shop in DC. Its very unique and sounds good. Word is that it was a promo release, but I cant find the words PROMO anywhere on it. Still legit though.
