I don’t know what y’all are gonna think but I picked up this on RSD and I’m pretty excited about it. Putting it on for a listen now.
whatever turns your crank is what i think. if we all liked the same thing, life would be pretty fucking boring.
Well we all presumably like pj and that’s not boring

It's here and man, I'm stoked. Sounds fantastic. Have to say though, it slays me to think I had I been in the know about this music back then, I could have hopped on my bike and been there in 15 minutes max and had my 17 year old mind blown. But to get to hear this anyway is sheer delight!.

Lions is my favorite Black Crowes album (saw them open for Neil Young touring that album)... will it be released in a... like...eh... regular edition for us who wanna spin the album but doesn't need a RSD whatever-colour-and-limited-status version?

It was listed as a RSD First release, so it will presumably get a standard pressing at some point. But when is the big question. It took a year and a half for Peter Gabriel's Rated PG to get a standard version released after the RSD First pressing and I know others that have been listed as RSDF in the past that still haven't seen the light of day. I'm sure it will come, you just might have to wait a bit.

Congrats. I know you were waiting for this one. Wonder how the custodian recorded this. That's crazy.

Oh man! Oh man, oh man, M, you said it!
Yeah, I was blow away by the fact that the custodian recorded it my making a deal that he would have the piano tuned IF they would allow him to record it. So cool!
I literally just listened to this again and again am so blown away, especially reading the little booklet that accompanies the LP. This recording was made well into Monk's career at a time where he was basically broke and in broken health and was being disparaged by the jazz community as washed up, tired and repetitive. This record proves how very false that notion is! And amazingly, the show happened because a 16 year old kid and jazz fan, Danny Scher, had a vision and made it happen. Fantastic! This one will hold a special place among my records. Any fans here of jazz- or any good music for that matter- will not want to miss this one!

You know, usually, my general philosophy regarding hype stickers is that they’re trash, but I had to preserve this one.
Was spinning that the past few nights at dinner.
A local station here in the Twin Cities (89.3) is running a podcast on the recording of Sign O the Times. Previously did one on 1999. Really good stuff.

I wish there was a set with just the studio album and the live recordings. That NYE Paisley Park Sign "☮︎" the Times benefit show is hot fire!
I don't want the demos and outtakes, and I don't think Prince ever wanted us to hear them.
He was something of a perfectionist in the studio.
I feel the same way about a lot of the Hendrix estate releases.
I wish I was a sacrifice, but somehow still lived on.

I'm gong to tell a lie:
I found a great, affordable copy of the recent RSD Dinosaur Jr Swedish Fist album! I'm so happy I could spit!
Actually makes me want to spit is how freaking mad I am that these got bought up by flippers and now I would have to pay an obscene amount of money for the one, THE ONE, Dinosaur Jr album I do not have. I can't do it. I won't feed the sharks.
Erggg!
End of rant. Sorry. It's just that they are my favorite band. Rats!

There’s a store near me that has one left for $55AUD - that’s about $40 US. I have no idea what it would cost to ship though

Good job not feeding the flippers. A few days ago a joint by me had one for about 40. Lmk if you want me to try to grab it.
