Had this cranked up so loud on Saturday night I'm sure the neighbours were probably banging on my door - but I couldn't hear them! "FERK YOU I WON'T DO WHAT YOU TELL ME!'. etc etc
When I was looking round the record fair I found myself looking for much more indie and grunge and metal, and post -80s stuff than usual. I think I've been listening to too much 1960s and 1970s rock records for the past 18 months - I'm walking round feeling permanently stoned man. Some of what you hear from that era is kind of comical. I was listening to CSNY '4 way street' the other day, and thinking 'what a bunch of fucking hippies'
Need more grunge!

Is Era Vulgaris hard to find or something? One of the stores near me has had a few new copies every time I go in there. I think it's $25.
No, don't think so, it was pretty easy to find. It was sort of my last vinyl candy before PJ20 haha ... And I don't know about thrilla, maybe he has put himself on a buying stop, too
Please, Pearl Jam, consider a Benaroya Hall vinyl reissue!

I didn't buy any vinyl today, but I did buy a new cartridge with different stylus - it's like having a new deck really - such a difference. Still making adjustments to get it sounding the best.
Even more importantly, I also bought me a new lighter!

I need to stop buying vinyl for a bit, haha. This is Smashing Pumpkins' Teargarden Vol. 2, not too big on the songs but I'll be damned if that isn't a pretty set. And considering it was only $10, well...
Thanks EPOTTSIII!

haha, well, I figured I was going to go out and make a large purchase, and I did, 10 records lol
I look forward to picking up a record each pay period
I tell you I have missed the thrill and enjoyment of searching and buying music
With the rise of torrents, I lost interest in buying CDs
Plus the sound of vinyl alone is enough to bring into the record buying world that you all inhabit

Amen. I'm not joking when I say my life has improved significantly since getting back into my record buying My love of and passion for music has never been greater. Three years ago I had pretty much reduced myself to maintaining a massive itunes library. Looking back I can see that is a very poor quality of life

yeah me too, I have become more passionate about music in the last 2-3 years, probably because I picked up an instrument. I was sick of digital music too, I love my itunes and Ipod, but the convenience has left me wanting more out of my music experiences. My buddy's record player showed me the way

I hear ya! It's quite the same for me I noticed that by getting a turntable and listening to vinyl, my musical interests developed a lot. Everything's a lot more diverse now and I hardly listen to mp3s. It's a pity that PJ vinyl is so expensive, though, cause I tend to listen to vinyl now exclusively and cannot afford all of their records ... So they are the only ones at the moment who get their fair share of mp3 and CD But you cannot stress it enough - once you caught it, it's like an addiction Welcome to the club, smarchee

Ah, the good old 'plum' Atlantic label? I inherited an excellent copy of that from my friend's dead Aunt, and it sounds superb - one of my best sounding records. Such a great album.
Layla sounds amazing on a nice turntable - side one on its own has some of the best sounds coming off it that you are likely to hear in your life. I got a first pressing of Layla this year, and I tend to use this to adjust the settings on my turntable - I was doing this yesterday - once I get Layla sounding at its best, then pretty much everything else works too.
God bless vinyl!
