I guess I'd rather have a neil young album and not a greatest hits.

I didn't want a bunch of NY albums, so settled for the greatest hits. I am fine with that. I have Mirror Ball coming in next week though. :)

Just a bummer. I was actually on the fence about it in the first place, but fell to the side of buying it, and now i feel like I just made my first bad record buy ever, and it blows! Next time just let me live in ignorant bliss! :P

Greatest Hits is.............great, nice choice!

It has so many awesome tracks, the fact it has Harvest Moon on it is worth buying it alone. Have you seen the price of a second-hand Harvest Moon the album, outrageous.

Last year I finally found my 'Holy Grail' of Neil Young albums - Tonight's the Night - I had been looking for it for about two years. What a buzz turning up that one in the racks! - I had almost reached the point of resorting to Ebay - but lady luck saved me! ;)

It sounds superb on vinyl - like a completely different album to the CD

    :)

Ironically, Tonight's The Night was the first Neil Young album on vinyl I picked up because it was the only NY album they had on my want-list, all the others I wanted weren't in stock.

I haven't checked in a while, but I think "Tonight's" still available new as a good quality vinyl reissue. I've had both an original pressing and reissue and I don't recall any difference in sound.

In any case, congratulations! "Tonight's the Night" is an amazing album. I save it for playing while in just the right mood- usually late at night, lights down low, settle in somewhere comfortable, eyes closed, totally immersed in every track.

How about "On the Beach"? It's close to the same period in time an another somewhat generally lesser recognized classic Neil album.
