I just picked up _____ on vinyl!

It's been literally decades since I've had the pleasure of hearing a new Sandy Bull record (new as in new release- Bull died in 2001). Having seen Bull live in 1970, I'm totally stoked to be hearing this! At last, Sandy Bull live on vinyl!

Stay away from the 3 disc Nevermind. The mastering on it is terrible. Its brickwalled to shit. I can't speak to how it compares to yours, but the ORG pressing blows it away.

Not sure tbh. They both say 'new' & were sealed(note: *were* ) so I wasn't sure but then I see on the receipt one of them said something about being a re-press or re-issue.

my favourite is this album, Pork Soda is another good album too, except lots of weird lyrics and odd song structures, but Les Claypool on bass is worth the listen, he's incredible, what he can do with the bass

I have all of their records, I'm a huge Police fan. I recommend all of them, there are only 5 studio albums and all are great. I love Ghost In the Machine & Synchronicity. Who am I kidding, I love all of their albums! You won't be disappointed.

Question for everyone. I'm going to be moving to Nashville in the next month or so. What is the best way to move vinyl? i saw some boxes on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/BCW-Brand-Record-Storage-Removable/dp/B005LLLZZW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1376775179&sr=8-1&keywords=vinyl+record+storage+box and was wondering if this was the way to go or if there was a better way that might be cheaper. Any suggestions welcome and thanks in advance.

UHaul or Home Depot ave some 14x14 boxes. Those will do the trick as well and are much cheaper.

Tip: if you are hiring movers, try to move the records yourself in your car. With you, its easier to keep the temperature reasonable and care taken so that they don't get dropped or smashed.

I placed mine into tote grocery shopping bags and placed them in my car although it took two trips, but my move was only 15 miles.

well I bought the clear version, or so I thought, only 1 of the LPs was clear, the second LP with the etched 4th side was black, so I guess they can't put the etched pic on the clear vinyl? Did anyone else buy the clear vinyl 2 LP and have the same thing?

Hey Smarchee, I have the clear version and both LPs are clear so sounds like there was a bit of a mix up with yours. Mind you the etching looks better on black IMO

well damn I want them both clear, I'd rather that then see the etching.

That was a $45 record, I wonder if I should ask if I could replace it, what do you think? Would you do that if you were in my shoes?

I think I might phone and talk to the manager and see if there are any options

I actually ordered one of discogs for $4 and it came to $15 prob with shipping but it was warped and sounded like shit, seller said it was kinda warped but I wanted it so bad, so I bought another one on e-bay

this album just is perfect for something in the background, love ambient/trance music

I think these boxes look good. Make sure you're not moving on a super hot day though ... I had to move my collection of circa 230 vinyls from Germany to the States last October. I took the ones that are most valuable and dearest to my heart with me on the plane in a record case (it didn't fit the hand luggage measures like I thought it would, unfortunately, and in the end I had to pay 575 Euros more for my extra baggage, but it was not only the LPs and totally worth it). Another couple I carefully packed, three at one time, in cardboard record boxes and stacked them in my container moving boxes, and the rest, I sent in small packages by mail. I am so happy I didn't ship everything with my container, cause it got hit by Sandy while sitting in the port in New York waiting for customs :shock: It was good that I packed everything in plastic bags too before I packed it into the cardboard boxes, otherwise I would have lost a lot more than just a handful ... I don't know how big your collection is, but I wouldn't go for the cheapest solution possible. Actually, shipping single packages of three lps from Germany was so super cheap, I would do it all over again (3-7 Euros a package, it counted as a letter). If you're using these boxes, maybe stack a piece of cardboard in there every now and then, and rather pack one box more than putting too many in one. Best of luck for your move!

Wish me luck Jamily Faithfull - I'm spinning the wheel today and gonna drift on down to a vinyl town, pick up a momento of former grunge days and glory. It's a risky mission and I may yet get shot. Pray for peace and resolution before I leave home and let's see what the vinyl gods reward me with. This time the revolution may well be televised. They got me on the run sweet brother but me and my Ariston stay two steps ahead of the competition. Love and glory to the eternal wax daddio!
