I was going to ask what kind of reaction he got. At last he was acknowledged. I don't think they did anything for Hughes if i recall.

Yeah, I think Hughes was mostly indifferent with possibly a few scattered boos. I dont get that.

You should see the hate he gets on Twitter. I mean he wins 18 and 16 games in 2 of his 3 full seasons as a starter. Both times going about 80 to 90Iinnings over from the previous year. Helped the team make the playoffs in 09. And he had a few injuries his first 3 years. Last year was a bad year and things didn't go his way a lot of the times. But I believe that was just an aberration.

I'm thinking the Yankees have to go something like 35-14 these last 49 games to make the playoffs.

That's a 115 win pace. I don't think any of the teams that are right there for the 2nd wild card are all that good. I think that 2nd wild card is Toronto or the Yanks.

I always liked him. Yankee stadium was a bad fit for him.

Yea I keep forgetting about the 2nd wildcard. But going on that run will make me feel better.

In a way I'm glad Mattingly didn't play in this era. With the spoiled fans we have now. He wouldn't be as beloved.

The Yankees have gotten really lucky with their pitching this year.

Capauno! Gotta give cashman a ton of credit. He has patched a rotation toe years in a row and the bullpen is all homegrown and fucking awesome!!
