Reports today are that arod can accept a suspension of this year and next without pay which would end his career but he'd still make $60 mil or so for the final 3 years or get a lifetime ban. He sounds like he's gonna appeal and not accept it.

People will "boo" him on the streets if they havent already. Give up Arod. Buy a sailboat or something..

Looking more and more like a witch hunt on Alex as MLB is trying to suspend him under the CBA agreement rather than the drug violation. So that he can't play while appealing his suspension.

He's fucked, the person that would decide any appeal on the CBA portion is Selig.

Me too. If the reports are true, he is going way overboard. That's why there is a CBA and JDA. Fucking follow it.

That said, getting out of that contract would be phenomenal.

Jesus Montero is no longer a catcher. Oh, and is likely to get 50 games. I like the kid, but this trade is far from decided.

"I don't know if we will be able to [add talent] or not, but ownership's commitment is still the same," Cashman said. "They have a strong desire to reinforce this team and find a way to get in the playoffs, and the season is now shorter."

I can, they weren't going to get anyone who can help the major league level back for them.

I would've taken prospects for Phil since we have plenty of options to take his spot. Now we are going to get nothing for him because I think the Yanks wont risk the QO. Phil cant pitch in the new stadium but his road stats are very good. He's ranked 21st overall in MLB in away games in ERA with a min of 40IP, so I find it hard to believe we couldn't trade this guy. We should've bumped him back and let him start yesterday at Dodger stadium instead of letting him get lit up again at the stadium on Sunday.

I think they make him a qualifying offer. It's a lot of money but I think they'd take pitchers on a 1 year deal

Definitely too much, but I don't think they would be opposed to that for 1 year, especially with the nonsense out there. Wonder what Hughes would do

Considering that one scout told me that he thinks Hughes pitches like he has no balls, I can't imagine many other teams feeling differently. There always is the chance though unlikely that someone makes a waiver deal.
