Pettitte is testifying today. Definitely a good thing to get it out of the way, assuming this is it.

Do you consider Clemens a Yankee.....or a sock?

or does it kind of depend on the verdict?

Both. Hall of Fame, if it happens, should be Boston, considering he played the vast majority of his career there.

it should happen but it's going to take a loooooong time. until then, we can get excited over the barry larkin types

I just hope the that if the HOF voters let in the "probable" dopers like pudge and bagwell, they let in bonds and clemens.

I have the feeling Ibanez or Jones won't be with the team mid year. Not sure why. Just a feeling. With this little rash of injuries in the OF right now it kind of shows their liabilty to the way the roster is right now. God forbid Tex gets hurt and Swisher needs to take over first for a little while. :fp:

how about Nunez last night in left field. Funny line from Andruw Jones, who knows a thing or two about playing the outfield from his prime years with the Braves:

It's guys laughing because that's Nunie, he's a funny guy," Jones said. "Everything he does is funny. He talks funny. He runs funny. He swings funny. He catches the ball funny. Everything he does is funny. That's why everybody is laughing."

I saw that. That's hilarious. Were you around when he said that?

Yeah, he said to about five of us that were writing extensively on it. I figured we'll write about Kuroda more than enough times when all is said and done.

But, what's the option? (if Hughes goes to the pen) Have Freddy Garcia back in the rotation?

Pettite and find something else. I realize a fifth starter is not high on the priority list but soemthings just not right with Hughes anymore. I think he'd be an extremely good late game reliever but I am really questioning his starting abilities.

Phelps would be starting on most teams, dj Mitchell should get a chance too. Starting pitching will be fine, I'm not worried. Hughes was actually good tonight aside from two pitches but his pitch count was up again. The first four once pettitte gets up should be good.

He tries striking everyone out. Pettitte needs to sit him down and explain the concept of pitching for contact to him.

I hear you. Tough for him since he doesn't have the control like someone like pettitte. Something has to change though, he was fairly effective tonight and still couldn't go 6

I love watching Pettitte when he gets on a roll and starts pumping out those 7,8,9 pitch innings.

No doubt, paints corners, throws upper 80's and just gets it done
