Girardi shot down Alex at SS. Says it's been too long.

It will be interesting to see if he starts taking ground balls there though. His mindset might just be too fragile at this point for something like this right now though. Man. :fp:

Jeter is my favorite athlete of all time slightly ahead of Mattingly. This sucks so bad. Hopefully the team can rally around this and you know Jeter will be standing at the rail the entire rest of the series despite how it plays out. FUCK!!!!!

I really hated that Granderson trade until this year ... Jackson cut down his strikeouts, hit for 300, 16 HR'S and 60 RBI'S and he's only 23 and Sherzer had a breakout year. As for Granderson he still strikes-out too much and at Comerica I doubt he'd be hitting 30 HR's a year. I still however think Jackson would be an ideal number 2 hitter if the Tigers could find a leadoff hitter.

    shut the front door!

cannot believe Jeter broke his ankle.

    this team is snakebitten.

    Lets Go Yankees.

Classy remarks by Jim Leyland in the post game press conferences about Jeter.
He basically said he will wait till the right time to tell jeter how he feels
about him and the respect that he has for him .

Time for the rest of the team to step up. Any contributions from anyone that should be producing should make up for Jeter right now. That's at least what I'm hoping for.

But wasn't he the most consistent in the playoffs for the Yankees. I like Jeter ... How can you not ... It's too bad he injured.

    cant help feeling somber
as it could be the end of an era.

how many straight years have we been blessed with this captain
    in our lineup
    and on the field

    sucks.

Yes and essentially the team is in the ALCS with no contributions from Cano, Tex, ARod, Granderson, or Swisher. If those guys can step up their game and produce even 20% more they could quite possibly be fine. I mean shit, the Yankees had the bases loaded three times last night and couldn't score. If they convert one of those chances last night they win.

Quite possibly ... But then I've been saying the same about the Tigers the last 2 years ... production seems to go down in the post season ... I like the Tigers chances, I feel they got the deepest rotation in baseball and with the exception of Valverde the pen is decent ... I still think this will be an exceptional series and last night showed you can never count the Yankees out and the Tigers showed they got some fight in them as well.

Just a point on Granderson ... He struck out 192 times during the season ... Correct??? How will he fair against Verlander and Sherzer in Detroit ... He looked ugly at times against Fister.

depressing parallels between your boy, jeter, and my guy buster (last year)...

4 run rally in bottom of 9th extends game (how often does that happen?)

season ending injury in top of 12th

    loss in bottom of 12th

in essence, an injury for a game they should have just lost in regulation :(

Let's get this shit done today. Too much talent on this team. Hopefully the injury can be some sort of rallying point.
