Yeah, because the last world series would have happened without him. They need any shell of him that they can get back ASAP. That Chavez run was awesome but predictably didn't last. Whether you like him or not, this offense needs whatever version of him they can get.
I don't know if it was me but before he got hurt, didn't it seem like he was starting to heat up?

Ah, yeah, I think so. I think he got his slugging up to the high point of the season.

Listen, he's not my favorite player on the Yankees and it would be awesome if they didn't have that contract, but this team right now needs whatever he can give them, even the 2012 version of himself.

2009 was awesome though. Think I am still recovering from that month.

His bat has slowed...he's only played in 68% of Yankee games the past two seasons (and counting)...he needs to get back on the roids. And then he's only be an RBI collector in blowouts.

Also, another solid start from Kuroda. ERA under 3 for the season, I believe. What an awesome pickup. I really hope they can get him for another year. So much fun to watch pitch and seems like a great guy.

When we went to the game, it was incredible watching him and Martin do long toss. My dad and I were amazed at the distance they were throwing from.

Ha, yeah, long toss is pretty incredible. So effortless to launch the ball 60 yards

Just comparing Swishers stats from when he joined the Yankees to what ARod has done over the same time period. Swisher belongs ahead of ARod in the lineup. I think he's in that 2 hole the rest of the season.

Hold up, Tampa and Oakland have today off? Because of the convention, I assume? That is really weird.

He was 15-for-47 with two home runs and six RBI in 12 games after the break. That was part of a month in which he was hitting .315 (23-for-73). In June he was .232, which is funny because that was when the Yankees won 10 in a row and 20 of 27.

Even with his diminished numbers, he's still consistent

vs. lefties .277, seven home runs 17 RBI
vs. righties .275, eight home runs 27 RBI

Aw, man, fuck. Marc Carig is leaving the Yankees beat to go to Newsday to cover the Mets. That sucks. He is awesome.

It's funny, this day in age, you feel like you get to know these writers, virtually. You know their personalities and all.

    That's disappointing.

Tremendous guy, but it's hard to blame someone for leaving the Star Ledger. Rarely any of their stuff appears in print and they use Daily News copy in print editions.
