passed out after a-rod's homer. looks like another dominating relief outing by joba.

i passed out when they made it 6 -3

nothing like waking up and waiting for the score to roll around ..especially when its good

joba was in w/ the bases loaded in the 8th

i guess they just wanted to give Mo some work in the 9th ?

Yanks traded for him to eat up innings, and with our offense, get a good amount of wins

he's rattled in April, the fans booing at the stadium has gotten to him already. He seems to be a likeable guy.... Too sensitive. His delivery has a hitch to it. His fastball is not there. I hope it's just a lil dead arm after spring training like mentioned on yes last night. He got lucky with arods throw to hom, and that dp he got.

I hope I'm wrong.... The guys 1st time around with us, and getting belted around with the chi sox(2 al teams) is damning

real success came with the expos and braves(nl teams)

    we'll see

The guy was an all-star in his season with the Yankees and had a horrible 2nd half which he says was due to arm problems.

I think you are jumping to a lot of conclusions, all he said about the booing is that he didnt think it was fair since it was so early and was an answer to a direct question, he also said the fans had the right to boo him and he didnt have a big problem with it.

Last year he had the WBC and winter ball to build arm strength. He is this teams 4th starter, which I am almost positive he will be successful at. He does not have to win the CY Young.

Edit: He has also said it was mechanical issues which he has had to del with his entire career, last night was a big step in the right direction.

This will make you feel good.

I'm watching the game on the Oakland station ... and they had about a 15 second break with no talking and the Oakland crowd was chanting, "Yankees Suck! Yankees Suck!" and this was the only audio ...

... after about 8 chants, color analyst Ray Fosse finally chimes in with a subtle, "Yeah, but they're pretty damn good."

I thought it was funny thinking about A's fans at home listening to him say that.

i just don't get it. oakland fans have to wait till the 8th inning to get their first hit off our 5th starter......but the yankees suck. lol

also, c'mon......be original and stop stealing a chant that is owned by boston fans.

    **edit**
seriously, jimed, get those boston fans to get a copyright on that chant so we don't have to listen to these biters around the AL anymore.

Fucking fantastic performance. Hughes has had no hitters broken up in the 2 most annoying fucking ways possible.

Jimed, I had the A's broadcast last night (figures I get the A's when Kay is at home) too and thought that was hilarious.

Yeah man, me too. Seems like a good kid. He could turn out to be one hell of a pitcher.

Honestly ... I hate the chant. It should only be used with the Yankees IN THE BUILDING (so, at least Oakland got that right) ... but moronic Sox fans tend to pull it out at games not involving the Yankees, sports that are not baseball (see the Patriots victory parade in 2001, where Larry Izzo started it), and concerts ... U2 in 2001, a Yankees suck chant broke out for some unknown reason. So fucking stupid. I wish Sox fans would just let the chant go all together, but I know I'm in the minority.
