I didn't see it, read about it though. Heard it was pretty damn impressive. He is incredible. I like paying attention to spring training to watch the young guys.
Edit: I thought this was great from Chad Jennings.
It's amazing how dominant he is with just one pitch.
Did you see the Sports Science thing ESPN did last week? It was awesome, let me see if I can dig it up.
Edit: For some reason the video isn't up anymore but it basically said that by the time the batter can pick up on the spin of the ball based on the velocity and everything else, it is impossible for the human eye to see the spin and react to the late movement. That's awesome.
He also had this quote, which I love: “Get it and throw it and let’s go home.”
I didn't see that on ESPN but I saw the video that was on the link, showing how his cutter works. Incredible stuff.

However, GM Brian Cashman doesn't seem enthused about the 29-year-old left-hander.
... and I was like :(
Makes sense to stock up on lefties with the Red Sox lineup so heavily left handed ... but, Cashman's way to smart to fall for Ollie's lack of control. Damn.

sounds like something being thrown against the twitter wall to draw some attention.. hard to believe Perez once dominated the Yankees in a 2002 interleague game at San Diego.

So Forbes came out with their annual valuations of each team. Yanks in at $1.7 billion, 86% more than the 2nd place Red Sox. This has risen from only 12% more than 2nd place Baltimore in 1998.
The Yankees, YES and Legends Hospitality are worth $5.1 billion combined.

Speaking of numbers that are left, who gets theirs retired from the 90's teams on. I love this debate.
100%: Jeter, Mo, Arod (A lot of people may disagree with this but when all is said and done he is going to be at the top over every yankees list, pretty much)
Others: Pettitte, Posada, Bernie, Torre
If I had to pick two out of there it would be Pettitte and Bernie. Such a hard decision though. Don't know how you can leave Posada and Torre out but that is just a lot of numbers to retire from one team/generation.
has anyone worn paulies 21 since then? throw him in that discussion too
Yeah, I thought about it but I just don't think he was there long enough and you have to cut it off somewhere. He was the man though.
Remember LaTroy Hawkins was wearing it a few years back and was getting absolutely harrassed by the fans. I think he switched a few weeks into the season.

maybe they'll retire that throughout the game for Roberto Clemente someday.

yea but now we can expect the slump to come soon. Hope he can start the season this hot. But he'll end with his usual 30/100.

Yeeaah, I don't think we have to worry about the payroll declining any time soon.
5. Which is retired, for Joltin' Joe Dimaggio. Pujols should just wear like 99, about the only number not to be retired
haha, seriously, he is going to have to pick a new number though
