What are the options if Lee signs with Texas, and Andy Pettitte retires?

    1. Zack Greinke
    2. Zack Greinke
    3. Zack Greinke

Which honestly, is probably better in the long run because of age and cost, but it will cost so many prospects.

    Today you think?

Seems to me it has come down to a decision over money vs. personal choice. Like, he wants to stay here, but the Yankees are blowing him away.

It looks like we won't get Lee. I was iffy on getting him. Especially for so many years. Now I'm worried about Montero being trade bait again.

Thank you douches who harassed his wife this year

I don't know how much that has to do with it, but we need someone to beat up over this :)

Do we try to trade for Felix?

I think he wanted to play there all along. Why screwing around 2 both teams? Especially if you're going to take less?

Ah well, terrible for the short term probably better for the long term. I would see what it takes to get greinke...montero, joba, Gardner, brackman. Won't be enough, I don't think.

no shot at Felix, just signed an extension, they aren't moving him.

    I doubt that's gonna stop a trade.

So for now our rotation is CC, Hughes, AJ, Nova and Mitre.

that will not be the opening day rotation. Can you believe the Yankees have payroll flexibility right now?

Yea but they will have to acquire a pitcher through a trade. Possibly 2. I wonder who will go?

I honestly think they get pettitte to come back and go into the season to see how things go and make a move if they have to.

I would love greinke or felix, just don't see it happening. I would give up the entire Scranton team for Felix.

    Maybe Lee couldn't handle NY

I wanted cliff lee on the Yankees more than anyone but I am not going to lose sleep over it. 7 years was a whole lot. As I have said many times, I would love greinke. Yankees would have a very good rotation with 2 pitchers under 28. Just don't know if cashman is going to do it, especially now that they have zero leverage.

Well I hope Montero is not part of any deal. And lucky we didn't trade him for Lee this past season. Since Lee wouldn't had come back. They could trade Romine and/or Cervelli. Everybody keeps saying Greinke can't handle NY. So who know?

So, the Phillies are the Miami Heat of the MLB right now.

    At least rotation-wise.

Edit: I'm sure I'll be a bit more angry about this in the morning, but I'm kind of drunk right now, so I'm looking at the glass half full. Still, not an ideal offseason so far for the Yanks.

Couldn't believe that when I read it. Wow, this is just crazy. I am a little glad though. That would have been an albatross of a contract.

I am not terribly upset about it either, wanted him on the yanks but whatever. At least he's not in the AL. 7 years would have been a lot.
