I guess I should specify. I'm not talking price point as I can see that for myself. I'm talking about shipping costs and the care taken when packaging for shipping and just the overall reliability of the sites.
oh and my newest edition is the cougar den "keepondrifter" album. didnt know anything about them when i picked it up, only wanted it for the horkey 3 color silkscreened jacket!!! it truely is a piece of art. also, limited to 500 copies and its only $12, i mean come on, its $12. after receiving it found out they are pretty good.

They are all good sites, packing is all good, shipping about the same give or take a dollar Acoustic sounds $7.45 shipping, Music Direct $6.94 shipping, i would give the edge to Acoustic sounds they have the better packing out of all three, i have had great success with them.

Spinning the new Nirvana colored reissue vinyl makes me hungry, In Utero reminds me of Butterd popcorn jelly-belly's, MTV unplugged looks like a cherry Lifesaver, and Nevermind could be a blueberry snow cone!!!!!!! Trip n' !!!!!!!!
Cool vinyl info, check out http://www.omgvinyl.com/ Alot of music there that might not be your cup of tea. But if you're a vinyl collector that loves the artwork & vinyl shades & make, there's alot of wicked goodies to check out.

Pink Floyd "Dark side of the Moon" 30th anniversary 180 gram, one of the best LP's i've heard-as in sound quality
Duuuuuude... I saw it (Pink Floyd Dark Side 30th anniversary) today when I bought Them Crooked Vultures vinyl ....
there were too much vinyl I wanted to buy: Bleach re-edition, Pink Floyd, Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood, The Doors Vinyl Box :-O ... etc etc...
Just a matter of time
if you get a chance i would pick up the Pink Floyd, not to sure but i think it won five different awards for some analog sound recording, but then again your sound will only be as good as your system!!!

I just ordered Bleach from Sub Pop, wasn't waiting on that one. I put the others on my x-mas list, hopefully they follow my links so they don't get me the regular issue rather then the ltd edition.
Also just ordered The Black Keys "Attack and Release" and "Magic Potion" from Nonesuch Records on sale.
I've been ferreting for vinyl today in charity shops - some of these people dumping their collections have only played these classic records twice since 1967 by the looks of things. At £2 a piece you can't go wrong. Dust them off then a couple of plays on a decent turntable and your stylus cleans em up pretty good anyway (then clean the stylus!)
[edit: I just looked this up and seems this is seen as very bad practice! hehe... I read once that this was cool, but then again I've also read you drive better without seatbelts...it seems to work for me, but then I have abused many records over the years!]
..... Some of these bargains I've picked up like this sound MILES better than my later reissues and all my funky coloured disks from my teenage years.
I'm not an expert, but I'm tending away from all the reissues, back to the original first pressings when I can (for 60's and 70's stuff particularly), and they are often a tenth of the price 2nd hand. I never realised how much pressing the actual disk was seen as such a craft in those days, but I've been starting to notice more and more from hearing the difference.
(Sorry if all this has been covered elsewhere I've not read all pages)
I just came across a website which seems to be taking this idea to a ridiculous extreme - they actually filter through individual records to try and find those that have been pressed particularly well. If you don't believe me, have a look at this! :
One individual copy of Teaser and the Firecat going for $350!!
I'm taking heart from the fact that I just bought this exact same edition, pressed or whatever by the same man (I can see his initials in the groove) for £3.50 !
I think more and more people are taking their entire collections into charity shops cos they all fully digital now. You can pick up some real gems.
Let's get down those second-hand charity shops I say!
ps - here's one of my favourite 'looking' albums, picked this up for £12.50 in 1993 I think.

Where'd you pick those all up?
Do you know how those sites compare to soundstagedirect?

got this one for about £10 in 1998 (might be more up your street!). No idea what it's worth - not really ever looked these things up before now.
