Johnny Sitar wrote:I only started getting into wax. Started with the Ten Legacy. Now I have Backspacer too. So I have bookended my PJ vinyl, with no books!
I guess I'll have to win the lottery before I can afford Benny or ITW. Oh well, maybe one day.
I've been eyeing Black Crowes Before The Frost.........Until The Freeze double LP. It's the only version of the record that actually has a physical copy of the second record. The cd only comes with the one disc, and then a code for a digital download for the second. I might have to snap it up.
My Dad gave me all his old vinyl years ago, and I STUPIDLY gave it all to a friend of mine (not owning a turntable at the time). Led Zep, Hendrix, Beatles, Guess Who, you name it.
i have been collecting for awhile and i dont have B-hall or Into the Wild .. flat out missed the B-hall sale by one day .. sucked they sold for like 34 dollars .. and into the wild i passed on .. and i could just kick myself on both !!0 -
Looking for " Temple of the Dog " anyone that wants to move one pm me .. thanks0

Really cool album.
"Passenger Side" is one of those classic late night driving home from the bar songs. I love it.
Box Full of Letters" is classic top. Just a cachy little tune. I alway get a good reaction from people when I play it. Hey man who is this, there good. No S#*T!0 -

I pretty much just buy pearl jam records, but one of my favorite non pj is my siamese dream vinyl.
The records are bright orange, but not a consistant shade of range, it looks pretty cool.
I bought that at a record shop in the late 90's maybe.
Truth is I rarely find time to be at home to spin the vinyl. So if I buy any its mostly for collecting (or if I have the time spin one its pearl jam, or my old ass copy of dark side of the moon).
I listen to most of my musc on my portable player walking to work and back. Doesn't sound nearly as good as vinyl, but its portable0 -
Probably best topic here. My dad has TONS of vinyl and I would listen to them all the time when I was younger. I recently started collecting.
Vitalogy (cousin gave me his when it was first released. Still in PERFECT condition)
At the Fillmore East - The Allman Brothers Band (first pressed copy)
Truth - Jeff Beck
Blow by Blow - Jeff Beck
Both Jeff Beck one's are also first pressed copy. I am on a hunt though to get Pearl Jam's vinyls.Shows: 6.27.08 Hartford, CT/5.15.10 Hartford, CT/6.18.2011 Hartford, CT (EV Solo)/10.19.13 Brooklyn/10.25.13 Hartford

Now days it easier to collect vinyl cause the net, but when i started collecting many years ago, all i had was record conventions, and just a hand full of shops that sold the wax, but know most shops have now extinct where i live, it's me and the net now. if you had the choice of two of the same album do you get the 180gr or the colored? decisions, decisions,?0

Someone already said 'weight before color' but I disagree. Color is cool, average ears can't tell the difference. Stored properly, both will last forever.
(assuming gfraser meant that heavier sounds better)0 -

yup i was saying that thicker vinyl sounds better, it does on a decent system and average ears can tell for sure. i would go for weight before color any day simply for sound. i dont think colored vinyl is really that cool and to be honest, when i have the option, i usually buy the black vinyl, its much more classic.
