and btw how the hell u can film without shaking..fuck im so freak that i film and the same time i jump around like crazy,,,
"...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".
"..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”
I don't think Europeans are spreading 'hate' or trying necessary to piss on the shows in the US. It's just pretty clear from videos that crowds in the US are different to in Europe and seem to be pretty lame for us compared to our shows where people are... moving, clapping, jumping about and stuff like that.
It's not necessarily 'grading' the audience, it's a simple open conversation about cultural differences in which we can clearly see from the evidence presented that:
(a) American crowds suffer from having to sit, like it is a Royal Variety performance, and
(b) European crowds kick ass.

If you want to have a conversation about cultural differences that's one thing. But you can't claim you're not grading the crowd & then turn around & refer to them as "lame". You don't see where THAT would annoy people? I'm all for talking about the differences. But when it resorts to childish name calling & claims as to how much more your enjoyable shows are, it just becomes insufferable & obnoxious.

Yeah, I was only joking. Maybe I should have written that so nobody got upset, eh?
I was just summing up the opinions I read on here. I really don't care, if people are enjoying themselves they can do what the like, it's all good. Fuck, I'd enjoy seeing Pearl Jam even if I had a tranquiliser dart through my neck.
By the way, do they give you the shot before or during the show in the US? (joke)
With regards to the Euro GA shows vs the seated US shows.... Where do we check the box to vote for the type of show we get?
Everyone can try to blast the US shows as lame, but I believe the band and the promoter have the ultimate say in what kind of show an arena has. It all comes down to the almighty dollar. I can't say for certain but I am willing to guess that insurance for a GA show in the States is too cost prohibitive then in the European nations.
As far as the LA Crowds.... Don't know, wasn't there, so I cannot say if they were great, bad or indifferent. I will say the Seattle crowds seemed fine to me. Yes, night 1 might have been somewhat subdued, but I believe that had something to do with all the new material that was being played and some were unfamiliar with. I didn't get the album until the day of the show, so no, I wasn't able to sing my lungs out and freak out, I soaked it in and appreciated it. And when I hear those same songs again in Philly in a couple of weeks I will be much more excited and singing along. Being able to rock out however we want is great, just don't knock those that don't follow your lead.... Hell people might think we are some weird cult or something....
Maybe we could start more threads about one of our favorite bands like, say:
1) Worst Pearl Jam member ever
2) Worst Pearl Jam Song Ever
3) Worst Picture of Pearl Jam ever
4) Worst pre-song Eddie Vedder commentary ever
For those of you considering starting these threads(or GOD forbid if you already have), please do us all a favor and go outside-take a walk. Or, spend some time with a cherished family member or friend. Maybe pick up a book(and read it if you're feeling particularly ambitious).
But please, for the love of all that is holy, don't start any more threads. Ever.
Thank you for your cooperation.
I won't change direction, and I won't change my mind.....
Actually... the WORST PEARL JAM CROWD EVER???
I would have to say the crowd where NINE PEOPLE LOST THEIR LIVES because fucking ASSHOLES in the back wanted to be in the front.
Instead of scolding people for not killing people... how about scolding people for killing people?
Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!

One of the worst crowds had to be in West Palm Beach last year out in the lawn!! I was the only one singing along, and people were giving me the look, "why are you singing so much?"

So not all pot smokers are the same but ALL Angelos are? It's okay to stereotype one group of people but not another? I grew up in Los Angeles. It's a city filled with 3 million people. Feel free to not assume that ALL people are the same. People who complain about the "fakeness" in LA are usually the type of people who are too afraid to venture into regions like South LA or East LA. Venture outside your comfort zone for once & maybe you'll get a broader perspective on life. I'm so sick of the incensant, childlish, close minded bashing on this board of all things Los Angeles.
I love my city & wish all the babies who complain about it 24/7 would just move the hell out already. Who needs them anyway.
Nope, I didn't say ALL Angelenos (you lived here all your life and call yourself an Angelo? Wtf is that?), just the ones who go to every single goddamn show I've been to in this town.... which is numbering in the hundreds. Let me repeat that, so your kneejerk doesn't kick in halfway through the message: I'm referring to concertgoers - and the entirety of Hollywood.
Most people I meet from Los Angeles aren't actually from here at all. It's an acquired behavior/attitude that you won't find as saturated anywhere else on Earth... except maybe Vegas. The vapid, insincere and relentlessly opportunistic are a dime a dozen in Hollywood.
Venturing outside my comfort zone? I've spent time in every area of this city (and surrounding zones) over the past decade. My diagnosis? Los Angeles is a shimmering pile of shit. There's magic here, and great things to be found, but overall it's terribly depleted of soul and community. And yes, I plan to move the hell out of this town as soon as I'm able - it's one of the worst places I can imagine to raise children - but at the moment I can't do this job nearly as efficiently anywhere else but LA. When tides shift, I'll ride them the fuck out of this place - with a middle finger out the window as I go.
Furthermore, what other city anywhere has songs written specifically to outline its shittiness? This sums it up rather perfectly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCEeAn6_QJo
