That's the danger with weed... it relies on its user to tell you when to stop. I know I can have about a third of a joint or a small bong bowl and I'm good. Any more and I'll usually end up close to asleep.

Yeah i think the chairs kill it a lot and from my experience there still wasn't any room to really move around in. Also also, the amount of people walking in and out to get beer and stuff, very annoying!

So... Not even the lottery winners were excited at this song, huh? Surprising.

It has nothing to do with weed.

It has to do with the fact that those people have been upfront before and will be there again.

Most likely they were in roughly the same seats for the past three nights.

Also, I guarantee 90% of those people are over the age of 35 (nothing wrong with that but people tend to rock less the older the get, not all obviously).

Great strategy to sell tickets, bad for crowd energy.
  • If some1 can show me a more un-excited crowd at any PJ show id like to c it.... again shame on who ever was there....!!!!!!!!! i have loved ever show i have seen the guys put on so far,and backspacer in my opinion is there best since yield, so y the hell would u make them feel like its just ok??? the whole album ROCKS.. and im sorry 2 say but every1 but about 10 people at that show in LA suck donkeys balls!!!!!!!!!! What is the obsession with critiquing crowds on this board? Seriously stay in your own movie. If you enjoyed a show and don't project it in a way the is "acceptable" to others too f*ckin bad. Anyone who was at the Gibson shows know the band played amazing shows regardless how fenzied the crowd was. Eddie just likes to harrass the previous nites audience to make the current nites audience feel better.

I know people have different ways of having fun at a pj show, but this is lame. Looks like a bunch of zombies hanging around.

I'm 40 and thank you for not lumping all of us older people into the non-rocker category.

I move at every show, leaving soaked. Probably b/c thanks to ultra running I have more energy today than I did at 20.

If I win the lottery on 10/27 you will notice me as the 6-4 old man moving!

But, I agree those people in the vid are lame.

You need to get your facts on how tickets were distributed for those four shows before you make statements like that. There were different people up front every show.

Also, choosing a video for "Johnny Guitar" isn't really telling the whole story. The crowd was just fine.

Get over yourselves people. you sound like a bunch of amateurs

Thanks for providing that link. In LA 3, we got stiffed on Gonna See My Friend and Amongst the Waves. I really wanted to see those. Do you have a good video of Amongst the Waves live?
Up here so high I start to shake, Up here so high the sky I scrape, I've no fear but for falling down, So look out below I am falling now, Falling down,...not staying down, Could’ve held me up, rather tear me down, Drown in the river
  • I was at LA3 show second row center upstairs. I was going insane.

Dont hate the smokers...i dont think that has ANYTHING to do with it.

The sound IS awesome there but the chairs really restrict you. I moved up to the railing several times cuz all I wanted to do was move..feel the music... hoot holla and show my respest and the frickin security guard kept harassing me " Do you need help finding your seat" After about the 10th time of me telling him "NO I DONT" you think he would let it go....But NOOOO. I know the guy was just doing his job, but lighten up a little..jeez. So I bought a ticket for SD Hell yeah.

Besides the crowd being a little lame THAT WAS THE BEST SHOW EVER !! Cornell & Cantrell are U kidding me?

Looking forward to see how SD can try an top it.

Thank you PJ for such an awesome show 10/6/09 ! :P quote="Brisk."]

funny how everyone blames chairs.
every pj GA show i have been to - both in the US and europe were the same - could barely move! have a LOT more space to rock out as you please with seats. thing is, there IS space...and thus it doesn't appear as frenzied. when people are crushed up together, you bet....it is more rockin' in the sense that...you are all moving together. looking at the crowd in verona, a seated euro gig, looked eerily similar to most shows in the US. people rockin' out, but with space and in their own way.

anyhoo, i agree with whatever poster above who mentions, wtf is the obsession here with 'rating' crowds involvement? i will never understand. who cares? seems to me pj put on some KILLER shows for the LA crowds, so they didn't seem to mind. perhaps being ON the stage, they have a better perspective of the fan's reactions, can fully see their enjoyment. yes, that vid, the little i watched....crowd is subdued somewhat, but i DO see quite a few people pogoing up and down, and i see a LOT of people swaying, etc. not everyone needs to jump up and down. leave people to their own enjoyment. the only thing lame is telling others for actually having the nerve to enjoy a show in their own way.

    carry on........
    Stay with me...
    Let's just breathe...

where the heck do you see shows? i've been trapped in drain pipes with more room to move than the floor at your average US arena show. ;) at least for GA if you want the extra space, you can move back a bit. you don't HAVE to cram up to the front. and even if you have a little less "space" up front, there's a buzz that that many peopel getting frenzied in unison adds to a show that a bunch of people off in their own little 12x12 inch boxes in seats simply cannot match.

lollapalooza was the most exciting PJ show i've seen for this reason.

    yup.

It's hard to look like you're rocking out, on camera, from 70 feet away, when you can't move forward, back or side to side much. Sometimes all you can really do is bob your head aggressively, but I don't think that would easily be picked up by a camera so far away.

Security were also major assholes at this show. I had an aisle seat and if I had even HALF my foot on the aisle i would get pushed further into the row by an asshat security guard. This happened several times throughout the show.
