You don't have to educate me on where female circumcision occurs. It happens on all of the continents, not just Africa. And I was referring to extremists, not populations. Oh, and by the way, fuck you for calling me racist. Don't throw that word around, "idiot."
he's got a point. why are you bringing up arab stereotypes when i asked you why an anti-western sentiment exists in the first place?

Why don't you all explain this to me then. I would love to hear how the Taliban, Al Qaida, and Osama Bin Ladin are not actual terorists.

The latter two are. The first is a fascist theocracy. And you cannot use them interchangeably. OBL plotted 9/11. Not the Taliban. The Taliban doesn't train women and kids to blow themselves up, that's more a Palestinian thing. The Taliban is busy making sure women don't do a godamn thing other than serve their husbands like slaves. The embassies and train stations... pretty sure that's Saudi Arabia.

But I totally understand that it's a lot easier and less demanding to just lump all brown Muslim people into one big "terrorist" bag and treat them all the same.

Which is why our wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have been such clusterfucks from day one... you/the USG doesn't know or care about the Islamic world. What you just said is like an Afghani saying every American is an abortion clinic-bombing Dubya worshipping Christian fundamentalist. When the fact is there are dozens of Christian sects here, 50 state, hundreds of political persuasions, etc. Not that you care. Like I said, easier to just assume they're all the same terrorist.

i love this word. it amuses me almost as much as the term smart bombs does.
    hear my name
    take a good look
    this could be the day
    hold my hand
    lie beside me
    i just need to say

I was exposing the harsh realities that people have to experience, past and present. I have not posted anything untrue. I was not stereotyping anybody. If I have offended somebody, that's on them. The truth is that there is far more liberal thinking here.

    Today from Democracy Now....

US Drone Attacks in Pakistan Rise Dramatically under Obama

Investigative reporter Jane Mayer of The New Yorker magazine reveals the number of US drone strikes in Pakistan has risen dramatically since President Obama took office. During his first nine-and-a-half months in office, Obama authorized as many CIA aerial attacks in Pakistan as President Bush did in his final three years in office. At any time, the CIA now has multiple drones flying over Pakistan, scouting for targets. Mayer writes, “there is no longer any doubt that targeted killing has become official US policy.” David Kilcullen, a former adviser to General Petreaus, says that the propaganda costs of drone attacks on civilians have been disastrously high. He recently wrote, “Every one of these dead non-combatants represents an alienated family, a new revenge feud, and more recruits for a militant movement that has grown exponentially even as drone strikes have increased.”

This is only going to get worse if the policy of using drones is going to continue.

    Peace

yeah man i agree life can be shitty.

i think i'd take acid to the face if it meant i could escape a lifetime of repression and brutality at the hands of the state. being a minority in a US ghetto for example. that can be as harsh as some of the things you brought up.

which has fuckall to do with anything.

you still haven't answered the fooking question.

why do you think an anti american sentiment exists in nearly every corner of the globe?

listening to a documentary on cbc now ... about german women that were raped by russian soldiers ...

we are far too sheltered from the consequences and suffering related to war ... i can't possibly imagine having a machine gun pointed to my face and watching some soldier take your daughter away to be raped ... and to this day - this shit probably still happens under the guise of war ...

Isn't it the goal of U.S. mainstream media to keep us all in the dark about war going on in the world? They've got us right where they want us...entertained and stupidified about world issues. Because if we knew, we could be dangerous. We could revolt.

I think Ed said it best in Unthought Known... 'dream the dreams of other men, then you'll be no ones rival'.

    That's not what he said.

The lyrics are: 'Dream the dreams of other men,... You’ll be no ones rival,...'

He's saying that it's better to have your own dreams and be no one's rival. The meaning is the exact opposite of what you've described.
The song is about finding your own path in the world and being an individual.

I think the song is open to individual interpretation! Who really knows where he's coming from, but my interpretation is different from yours...those lyrics to me is more about an understanding between people, and with that understanding lessens one's rivals, enemies. Kind of like the saying "Walk a mile in my shoes..." and vice versa. Less about being an individual and more about accepting love, IMO.

But that's the beauty of his songs, we all get something different out of them.

Either way, 'thechristianarchy' misquoted the lyrics.
