She is in the hospital in acute care with some terrible mystery illness. She's went there very early Saturday morning by ambulance and they still really have no idea what is wrong with her, after a CT scan, EKGs, blood tests .... she's so sick and in pain. They now have her on a morphine drip and antibiotics that they have no clue will have any affect, and are still waiting for some more blood tests to come back..... It is so worrying. I was with her all day yesterday, my dad is there today, I think my sister has the Monday shift but I'll be going too. It is amazing (and disturbing) how much more attention she gets when a family member is there advocating for her.
I am just hoping they figure out wtf is wrong sometime today. So worried.
Also, spending time in acute care is disturbing AF in general. I have seen people die this weekend.

I'm really sorry for you! This sounds terrifying. Hope they'll soon find out what's wrong and your Mom will become healthy again quickly! Stay positive and strong! I'll keep you in my thoughts and whish the best to you and your family!

Keeping you and your family in my thoughts. I hope that the medical team are able to determine what the issue is and can get her up and about in no time. ((((Hugs))))

@PJ_SoulI 'm so sorry to hear about your mom, and I hope they figure out what is going on. Agreed on how disturbing/unsettling it can be to spend time at the hospital.

I hope they can get your mom's illness diagnosed quickly, and she recovers soon. It is good that her family is advocating on her behalf. That is essential.
My mom went to the emergency room last summer and was hospitalized for a couple of days before a final diagnosis was made.
I woke up this morning knowing that the temperature high is 20 degrees cooler than yesterday, and I jumped out of my bed joyfully. I've been humming ever since then.

Thanks so much for the well wishes everyone!! I really appreciate it - you all rock.
It's been a really rough week, but my mom is finally going home today. They did test after test after test after test after test - everything under the sun, seriously, and they were very reactive when she had these scary moments of crisis just randomly (2 CTs, like 5 EKGs, at least a dozen blood tests, two scopes, heart stress tests, multiple specialist examinations, etc etc etc, OMG, I AM SO GLAD I LIVE IN CANADA. No bill to pay thank god!). They certainly ruled out a lot of things, and she is likely the most tested person in that entire hospital ... but they still have no idea what in the fuck was/is actually wrong with her. It's like her whole body was just throwing in the towel for no specific reason for a while there. But she also slowly improved during her stay, even though they weren't treating her for anything specific, and ruled out viral or bacterial infections as well. It's so weird. She is feeling much better now, and does have an appointment still with a couple specialists to keep trying to find out what went wrong and of course to see if we have to keep worrying. It is possible that she will just feel completely better and all this will remain a medical mystery forever! I hope so! Of course I'm scared that this could just happen again, or over and over again, until one of those times she ends up dying instead of improving. It's is a strange and terrifying feeling, to not even know what's wrong when someone is in medical distress, and to have no clue if it could happen again for no apparent reason.

@PJ_Soul I hope Mom is feeling well & the specialists are able to think outside the box. I kept thinking Lyme Disease, never had it but I know people who went through hell & were finally diagnosed. I am completely ignorant of medicine though so I am just sending love & hugs.
I know you went through this months ago, different situation, & it is exhausting & scary. Thankfully you have others to help when she's ill. But doesn't take away your fear.
Thinking of you & hoping for Mom's diagnosis & healing for all. ❤
Visiting Seattle in about 11 months. I'm already reviewing places to have espresso. I can not wait to sit near the window at Espresso Vivace. I still remember their lattes after 17 years. Joy is in my future!

September is my least favorite month. I had such hopes for it because of the solstice, but by the time September comes around I am so tired of summer, and we still get hot days it the 90s. I feel like September has conned me for decades.

But, yes it's scary not knowing what's exactly wrong. Maybe over time they will know?
Hope all goes well.
