    ACL shipping update.

Masters should be arriving by monday which means we should ship by Tuesday. I believe LA 3+4 masters are in route too, so those should be going up for sale soon. We should be able to get all three out on Tuesday if there are no hiccups.

    Thanks for all the support.

Yes, I know we probably will have to wait for frickin' NOVEMBER for the Euro boots of the AUGUST shows!!!

As someone else said, it's like a kick in the nuts every time the US gets yet another one of their boots out and we don't wee any of the Euro boots released.

The way I am starting to see it is this:

Pearl Jam sees the opportunity to make some quick cash by giving exclusive rights to a few radio stations. Now they need to find out who they can easier get away with screwing over, making them wait for their boots. Guess what. Pearl Jam is American. Europe gets screwed.

Last time I wrote a b**chin post, I did it mostly as a joke. Since then I have daily checked if there was any news. Well, the wait is over. I will consider myself satisfied with my radio recording, and not be in any hurry whatsoever getting my O2 boot.

Pearl Jam: I am a new fan. Really, my wife is the big fan. I went to your show, and I was stunned. I really liked you. I became a fan. Now, after several months of feeling inferior to your local fanbase, I can clearly see my irritation winning over the fascination, and I am really really really REALLY getting tired of feeling overlooked and ignored. I have written to 10C to ask for news back when we didn't get ANY. I didn't get any news either. I felt ignored. Now, we only get very very vague hints... "soon"... "very soon"... "a few weeks"...

Honestly, What the hell? Is this a way to treat your fans?

How about a clear message, something like "due to contracts made with european radio stations, the Euro boots have been but on hold until November 1st, but do not worry, they WILL be released".

That way we will have something to cling on to, and we will feel like we can patiently wait.

Pearl Jam, after hearing so much about how focused you are on your fans, you truly dissapoint me. I'm done playing that game.

Come november, I will check again. If you got the Euro boots out, good. If not, I really don't give a damn. I am no longer in a hurry to give you my money. You're just not that important.

Of course, I realize that Pearl Jam will never read this, and if they did, never care. I now see that they are no better than millions of other bands out there capitalizing on their music. I honestly saw them different.

I hate the bad taste in my mouth listening to their music today.

Geez, shouldn't you just feel kinda lucky you'll get a boot of the show you were at some point?

Anyone who saw them before 2000 or in 2004 or 2007 didn't have that luxury, you know.

Where does this bizarre sense of entitlement come from?...

They don't owe you anything, my friend.Tto be quite honest, if the band did read your post, I wouldn't at all blame them for thinking "if this is how demanding and ungrateful our fans are, well, fuck 'em - they don't deserve any boots."

Get over yourself, grow up, have a little patience and stop being such a whiny prima donna.

  • OK, this msg is for the guy that was getting really impatient with the delay for the Europe boots ....
First off, i'm a long time PJ fan, but a new TC member, so maybe this suggestion will be ignored, but that won't stop me from offering it ;) ... Anyway, we were fortunate enough to see both shows at Chicago and both shows in Seattle. We bought the boots and we definitely enjoyed them, but we bought other boots too, and I like some of them better than the ones from the shows I actually attended. So how about this idea ... instead of getting mad about something that you really can't do anything about, why not order a few shows that are available until the UK stuff comes out? I can strongly recommend both Seattle shows, as well as Toronto & Portland.
Wrigley Field (Chicago) 7/19/13, Pacific Coliseum (Vancouver) 9/25/11, ScottTrade Center (St. Louis) 5/4/10, Sprint Center (KC) 5/3/10, Wachovia Spectrum Arena (Philadelphia) - 10/31/09, Key Arena (Seattle) - 9/22/09, Key Arena (Seattle) - 9/21/09, United Center (Chicago) - 8/24/09, United Center (Chicago) - 8/23/09, Colonial Center (Columbia, SC) - 6/16/08, The Vic Theatre (Chicago) - 8/02/07, Pepsi Center (Denver) - 7/02/06

Actually come to think of it, I just might be a puddle full of detriment.

Kingkeld's post might be ill-tempered, but he has a point. Those waiting on the Europe boots have received very little in the way of hard information - merely a promise that they will be released at some point. It's also not hard to see why frustration is growing, given that the US shows are being released so quickly. So far Kufala have been excellent in giving updates for US shows, including information about the receipt of masters from the shows, etc. Surely it can't be that hard to give an expected release date for the Euro tour, or to state that the recordings are being held back due to promotional deals.

The word 'entitlement' gets thrown around here very often by people who don't seem to understand it. The product has been promised, so it's not unreasonable to expect it to be on sale. Expectations and frustration will certainly grow as the US shows continue to be released without any real information on the EU shows. This could easily have been avoided by rolling the boots out at a later date, when all of them were ready to go.
When we found the things we loved,
They were crushed and dying in the dirt.
We tried to pick up the pieces,
And get away without getting hurt,
But they caught us at the state line,
And burned our cars in one last fight,
And left us running burned and blind,
    Chasing something in the night.

This a solid post and deals with the situation well.

Sure its frustrating. Although like anything new that has Pj on it, I am excited to get them, and am very much looking forward to it, I can wait patiently. This band sure does bring out our worst qualities at times like this.

I can understand the boiling over sure, personally though I have such great memories of this years tour, I can live without the boots for now. I can still feel the energy of the opening notes of Berlin, i can still see Vedder in the late evning sunshine, in his shorts leaping with the mic stand as soon as Why Go started up.....and I can still hear the fucking unreal bass levels of Brother and Get Some......

I still look back at the manchester show, and the pure energy of RVM, and leash, an probably best of all I can still rmemeber every bit of Love reign oer me at london.

the memory is so fresh, and so great I'm so cool waiting for the boots, hell there is even a chance the boots may diminish the way I remember the shows

Stay calm people, really these boots are coming, they will be great, but are they essential to our lives? even coming from a PJ freak like me who would collect their toe nails if i could get some, the answer has to be no
  • i wait the Europe as well, but to get really crazy is another thing..i post here, have fun ,i know that i cant do anything than waiting,,so no matter i scream nothing is gonna change..but..

I'm really hoping the LA 3/4 shows are released today. I have a flight back to Toronto tomorrow and having one/both of the shows to listen to would be great. Still can't believe how good they were.

    I hope so :)

Part of me is hoping they don't release them today for one reason. I will buy the CD's either way but If they are released today, I'll have to buy the MP3's to load them on my iPod for tomorrow. But if they aren't, I'll save the $ on not getting the MP3 downloads.

Sounds like a compelling argument TO release them today. $20 extra bucks for PJ.
I for one am REALLY hoping we get LA3 + 4 today.

I understand the frustration for all the people waiting for Euro shows but we can't do anything about it. I am a little pissed about Manchester as I want to buy that cd for my mom for Xmas. It was the best show she ever saw and has been going on and on about it ever since. Sure I want the O2 and Berlin show too, but I also want one of the new recordings with the new stuff on but can't afford them all. As soon as I get the Manchester one I will download a few others but that's the real one I am after.

Although obviously I would prefer an Imagine in Corniche from London, Manchester, Berlin and Rotterdam instead!

I am very patient, alas time is running out for Xmas, especially with the shipping and a medievel postal service over in the UK.
    :D Rock on!!!! :D
Seen Pearl Jam 4 times in London, once in Manchester, as well as an Eddie show at Hammersmith.
