having read all of this and thought through it and discussed it with many people before, I'd like to say that while I must admit that I do download albums from bands that I love before the release dates (because of impatience), I personally would like to see some sort of system that puts creative control of how an album is released go back into the hands of the bands (not record companies).
I really do remember the thrill of getting no code and going down into my room and saying to my parents 'see you in a week'.
This lack of leak has shown that maybe it's possible again. I dunno.
Can anyone envision a foolproof system where we'd actually see albums see the light of day on a specific date?
Well....you could always just buy it on the day it was intended to be released and not download it early. That would work...
