I've seen that soccer player but his name Kanu is two syllables and it's clear they are saying his name.
I'll try to see more positive in the Boom thing in future shows. and in the end I think he's here to stay and if anyone is not in favor of him, it's their prob. eh? glad to hear peeps here are praising.
peace.
Maybe a better example is "Bruuuuuuuuuuuce"?
Actually, I brought a friend with me last night who had never seen them live, and he thought we were booing him too, but he didn't know his name was Boom.

HOLY SHIIIIIIIITTTT!!!! These were my 7th and 8th shows and they were incredible. As far as sound goes, I've never been to a show where they've had as much energy in their voices and instruments. Mike gives it his all and looks like he still has energy to burn. Eddie's voice is still great. The UC sounded a lot better for these shows than any other PJ show i've been to. Just fucking great...wish they were coming back already.
Well I don't know what I can say that hasn't been posted already. But I am sitting here at my desk at work and my body is still abuzz from the last 2 nights and I just need to type something!! Sunday was absolutely incredible and thanks 10c for the tickets! Was up in 334 (poor 10c #) and still had just a great time and the energy of the band and the crowd was phenomenal. Great setlist too, etc etc.
But last night I got lucky and was able to sit 113 row 4 right next to the stage (thanks Pete I owe you!). It's a night me and my friend will NEVER NEVER forget. I have seen PJ 10+ times and this show is right up there with Soldier Field 1995 as the 2 greatest shows I've ever seen by any band period.
It's absolutely unbelievable to me that PJ can still bring it like they do after all these years and keeps getting better and better!! The setlist was beyond phenomenal, the sound was much better than Sunday (certainly helped I was closer), and there's that certain energy you get from PJ and the crowd when it's in Chicago (ok I am biased but still!)!
So I echo everything else above and thanks PJ. Keep on fucking rocking for the next 20 years!! I look forward to going along for the ride!
Wow what a show. Night1 was solid but night 2 blew it out of the water. Great seats from the Ten Club section 5 on floor dead center. Had a good time at the preparty hanging out pjsteelersfan and his brothers and ran into megatron and joe who I meet at EV in ATL.

I might be alone in this opinion, but Boom (love the guy, don't get me wrong) ruins the end of Crazy Mary. I prefer Mike's guitar solo ending to Boom's stuff 10fold. Everyone around me on the floor seemed to be simply standing around waiting for that amazing song to end, where as if Mike had been ripping through that speed picking from the 96-2002 era I just know we'd have been throwing our chairs at each other while tearing our clothes off in some sort of uncontrollable fashion.
Cheers! Amazing set of shows, only my 5 foot 2 fiance couldn't see shit since we were on the floor for night two. However, we had a blast making fun of couples snogging during Black and Betterman.
dear pj.laura -
great review - helped me remember some of what took place last night!! i must have been 2 rows behind you!
what a great show! MIKE ON FIRE!!!!
laura - please thank your husband for me - they did 'no more' for him too! bon
I was rooting for him. IF they are booing, I try scream louder, in favor, to drown out the boos.
Its very possible they are praising him, just coincindence he goes by Boom, and it's easy, so everyone yells Boom? But no one yells anyone else out by name, in harmony, like chant? My mind is open and I hope they are yelling in his favor, I know I am.
When I was in Grand Rapids 06, there were people in front of me that were definitely boo-ing and not screaming BOOM!! YEA!! they lowered their voice and cuffed their lips like a strong, low boo.
I appreaciate your thoughts and comments and am honored to be part of this group. thanks!
Edit- oops, someone already used the Bruuuuuuce example!
I forgot to mention in my original fanview- they are really not shying away from any songs this tour. Even with the high notes- Ed's hitting them on In Hiding, Nothingman, Reign... He sounds fantastic!

Aw, that's sweet! He was actually in Iraq when I went to the United Center shows in '06, so there was something pretty meaningful about being able to go with him this time around.
As far as remembering what happened last night, I know I'm forgetting stuff as well. Thank goodness for the boots! I can't wait to get my hands on both nights.
Thank you Tenclub. Sunday night had sec 108 (opposite end of stage). But still great.
Yesterday.. Hail Hail the lucky ones.. I got 2nd row Sec 3. To me it was the equivalent of the 1st row. I have never been that close in all my PJ shows (30+ shows).
Not much more I can add that hasn't already been posted. Just a special night. Amazing energy from the band and crowd. I need a few days still to totally digest everything. Amazing two nights though.
Thank you again 10club and Pearl Jam!

Unless the Sox are in NY then it is definitely BOOOOOOOOOOO......
Went to both Chicago nights and they were both amazing! Night 1 was my first PJ concert. Like everyone said the energy from the crowd and the band was insane. Really glad everything worked out so I could I make this trip and drove 8 hours to see them live. Would do it again and even drive a bit longer if I had too. Definitely in my eyes the greatest band ever.
Thank you 10C and PJ for giving me some of the best days of my life! I can't say that one night was better than the other - I loved each for different reasons. Together they were like the ultimate concert. I was on the floor on Sunday and sidestage on Monday, which worked out better because I could actually see!
First I have to say that I saw the Who a few years ago and PJ's version of Love Reign O'er Me would have made them proud! Rats & SBC were definitely highlights on Sunday as well. Also a major cheers goes out to the people sitting around me from Boston and Ohio - you guys were great and your energy definitely added to the show!
Last night I almost died when they played In My Tree and Brother. This band goes above and beyond for their fans EVERY time. I had a friend with me that had never seen PJ and he was just astounded after the show - to quote, "I had no idea they were such an incredible live band - that was one of the best shows of my life!"
Matt's drum solo during Even Flow was a treat, Jeff's bass playing for The Real Me blew me away, Mike is just a guitar god, Stone's energy was so fun to watch, Ed's always amazing (I have no idea how he plays while bending over without falling...!) and Boom....BOOOOOMMMMM....incredible!!
Thank you thank you thank you!!!!
Edit: I forgot to add that I was super stoked to see Bad Religion and they were awesome! 30 freaking years they've been a band!!!
Nice shout-out to Dennis from the Frogs - what a great yet underrated band.
Finally - the new songs are incredible live - I danced like crazy for The Fixer and Got Some - can't wait for the new album!!!!

And what people must know, In My Tree was not the new version. It was the old school, 1998, big tom drums version. And it ruled as much as you think.
That is the best thing I've heard in ages! New, improved In My Tree wasn't so much. I so hope they play it at Key or in Portland. Can hardly wait to see them again!
I have seen many bands play live. There was absolutely no comparsion.
Other live acts play well, providing all the hits and crowd pleasers,
but Pearl Jam is in a league of their own.
They were in sync and played as one. Their intensity was absolutely incredible, like nothing I have experienced.
Eddie definitely lives every song he sings. It brought tears to my eyes.
When Eddie talked about being in Chicago when Obama took the stage, It felt as though Eddie had a grateful tear in his eye.
Thank you PJ for an awesome show.
I might be alone in this opinion, but Boom (love the guy, don't get me wrong) ruins the end of Crazy Mary.
Oddly enough... Last night with Boom absolutely slaying "Crazy Mary" live and in person... This is what finally put me over the top about this guy and what he brings to the table. Love me some Boom!
"A lot more people are capable of being big out there that just don't give themselves a chance." -Stone Gossard
all right, i had the chance to experience Pearl Jam in a completely different way than i think i ever had
my seats were on mike's side of the stage on angle that was about 3 rows from the corner of the steps (if that makes sense) anyhow, the view i had of the stage was like i was watching them from above at a very close distance, almost directly above slightly off to mike's side (sec 113,)
i took the opportunity to just observe...just watch what was going on on stage for the first time ever as with the view i had i could see all the band member at once doing their thing.
it was FREAKING SPECTACULAR!!!!!!
it was amazing to watch mike run complete laps around the stage, amazing to watch ed stand there and rock out on the side while mike was slaying his solos, apparently ed has as much fun as we do watching mike destroy on guitar
to watch matt stand behind his kit rocking out and then to see the full fury of matt FUCKING cameron kill the drum kit
to see boom in all his hawaiin glory pound out the most spectacular crazy mary i've personally ever seen him do.
to watch mike and jeff swap guitars back and forth and to see the smiles on both their faces,
to see stone exhibit more motion in one night than i think he moved the entire last tour....
it was such a special site to catch such a close glimpse of the chemistry this band has with each other.
the band is definitely in an exciting place as whole.
usually, my seats are on the floor and usually no matter where i am, i'm jumping around like a madwoman and can see everything but not all at once...but last night was different, i could see everything, i still rocked out but this time i was jumping on the inside.
it was my own little experiment and in my opinion, it paid off.
i was not disappointed at all with the choice i made to just observe.
i'm sure i missed a few things but the way these 5 musicians (+Boom, on occasion) feed into and play off each other was a show in itself and to be able to see it all....amazing!
i dont think they could have picked a better setlist for my little experiment, either.
i dont know what it is about this band that they never fail to deliver just what i need everytime i see them.

I knew I would get pissed coming on here and looking at the set list. I couldn't resist. I went to night 1 & could have went to night 2 but could not miss work. I always missed work for PJ. I guess getting older and kids may do that to you though. Damn it!! and the seating would have been great also. OK now I have to try to forget they played a second night.
I saw both Chicago shows and they were great....but I'd have to give the nod to Monday. I haven't used my 10C membership to get tickets for every tour as I'm often not sure of travel availability in time to get them, but last night I got 10C tickets and they were great (7th row off to the side of the stage...Sec 121). I was worried before I picked them up because a friend got 10C tickets in the 300 section for Sunday night! Why bother? My 10C number is around 38500. Is that a low number, high number, are there a lot of old members in front of mine who might have dropped, etc.? Who knows more about the 10C ticket allocations?
My 1st show last night, took 3 people with me, one of which is a pretty good PJ listener. We were in section 302, but there is not a bad seat in the United Center IMO. I swear 80% of that section was hopping around and singing..including me of course. Fantastic show cant wait to get the bootleg. After about the 4th song it seemed they were just ripping em out and the place finally came alive. Called it a night around 3am finally and out on the road around 9am I beat. Beer cut off at 10pm was kind of a surprise but saved me a lot of $ at that point!
Ten Club # 433608, when I am 80 I will be in the front row!
My 10C number is around 38500. Is that a low number, high number, are there a lot of old members in front of mine who might have dropped, etc.? Who knows more about the 10C ticket allocations?
I personally would give you the deed to my house for that number.
I hope that helps!

I went both nights, but Monday was truly a religious experience...One of the best shows I have seen hands-down. Thank you Pearl Jam for really brightening what was a shitty week. I have loved you since I was 13 and always will.
I'm not lost, but I don't know where I am...David Byrne, Talking Heads
What a one, two punch. Both shows were great. I'd take the setlist from night two (the best I'd seen in person) and the crowd from Night I. I think I was unlucky in my location (this is no way directed towards you GoBlue). I was in Section 3 row 17.
I'll preface this by saying, I blocked all this shit out 95% of the show but sometimes it was unstoppable. Couple in front of me, girlfriend clearly not a fan and some dude. She was hammered and didn't look at the stage more than once or twice. Making out, talking, etc. They left about 7-8 songs in. Again, didn't bother me too much but when it's happening right in front of you and people are looking and point at them, it's hard not to get momentarily distracted and I did not want to miss a moment.
Dudes to my right, you know who you are 3 17 13/14. What the fuck are you doing? Band is playing like there is no tomorrow and not a single clap. nothing. Someone want to explain how or why one would not make any sign of thanks or joy towards the band? I just don't get it. When eddie is making multiple comments about the crowd (have to double check the bootleg but it was at least three or four comments and a great crowd doesn't have to be proded into being great) and I got two jackasses that close to the stage not doing a damn thing...it's unforgivable.
Then one or both of these guys let this hammered bitch enter our row twice in the middle of songs. The second time I confronted her with no support from my row. She was trying to get more of her friends to come on into our row. Yelling across people, wobbling, etc. Her group was eventually escorted out of the venue after a few moments of craziness. They were located in first few rows of maybe section 121(directly across from row 17 section 3).
Sorry for the rant, but I guess I just had bad luck. Like I said this was still my favorite setlist I've seen and the sound was great, but I would re-live night one before I had to deal with the assfucks around me (again not you GoBlue or couple from Kentucky) from night two. I wish some of you who realize how great that setlist was and couldn't make it were there instead of the problems around me. The show would have gotten off the ground sooner.
I saw both Chicago shows and they were great....but I'd have to give the nod to Monday. 38500? And you weren't up front? Something is off, as that section was going to 160-170,000 numbers.

I only went to Monday night show. I have loved PJ since I was a kid but just recently signed up for 10club. So my number is around 450xxx or something. Still had great seats. Section 219 row 4, just off to the side of the stage, which was very cool and gave a good view.
Thought the show was great. The new songs were good and I still love hearing the old stuff.
The guy next to me said he was also a 10club member. Seemed a little intoxicated but so was I. Anyways near the end of the night he was rocking out a little too hard and fell face first into the row ahead of us. He must have hit pretty hard because when we got him up he was bleeding pretty bad. It was funny because he wanted to stay and rock out, but his buddy made him leave, which was probably the right decision. I got home and discovered I had his blood all over my shorts and feet. Hope you are ok dude.

the band is definitely in an exciting place as whole.
usually, my seats are on the floor and usually no matter where i am, i'm jumping around like a madwoman and can see everything but not all at once...but last night was different, i could see everything, i still rocked out but this time i was jumping on the inside.
it was my own little experiment and in my opinion, it paid off.
i was not disappointed at all with the choice i made to just observe.
i'm sure i missed a few things but the way these 5 musicians (+Boom, on occasion) feed into and play off each other was a show in itself and to be able to see it all....amazing!
i dont think they could have picked a better setlist for my little experiment, either.
i dont know what it is about this band that they never fail to deliver just what i need everytime i see them.
Get it now, get enough, before its gone, let's everybody carry on, carry on....

I personally would give you the deed to my house for that number.
I hope that helps!
Regal Theater, 1994--most amazing night ever.
It might take a week or so, the ones in 08 took normally a couple days to a week..need those Chicago shows now
I'll preface this by saying, I blocked all this shit out 95% of the show but sometimes it was unstoppable.
