OK, not new breed, just lame. You go to a show, you fucking party. You get bumped into, too fucking bad. Quit worrying about other people at shows and just have your own fun. Also, not only are you a tool for keeping track of the number of shows you go to, you are a total goof for throwing it in people's faces. How many times have you said it's your 33rd show? You take a little too much comfort in that.0 -
This is one of the best set lists ever!!! Wish I there, ya lucky ducks!"I don't believe in PJ fans but I believe there is something, not too sure what." - Thoughts_Arrive0

how about you two take this elsewhere....
Most people want to read about fanviews here of 'the show'.....petty squabbles about behaviour are quite uninteresting for the majority0 -
hey there - thanks for the calling out those 2 C U Next Tuesdays last night. that was my daughter. i am not sure which guy you are but i have to say that all of the guys around us were super cool to my 13 year old (she is a bit small for her age). what bothered me the most and prompted me to go to security (something i have never done in all my years of concert attendance) was the smart ass response when i asked them to stop. in fact, they shot me a smirk and chuckled at me in essence laughing at me and my kid, had no show of remorse at all and thought the whole thing was funny. it took all the control i have to have not jumped back a row and... whatever - i was not going to get myself arrested!
i have been to well over 25 pj shows and have always been amazed by the community aspect of the 10c section down front. my member number of 66xxx has afforded me not only the best concert experiences in my over 40 years on earth but has also led to some great friendships that have started and continued thanks to pj. the guy sitting next to me was at the show in may 2003 - the first show i took my daughter to. we were dead center in the third row - eddie tossed his tambourine to her and he remembered us from that show - now that's community.
In the days before chicago's smoking ban, this would have been a different thing. i would still have taken my daughter to the show but she would have known that smoke was part of the experience and maybe would have passed - maybe not.
the security guys were totally cool - off duty chicago cops. it took daughter and brother for us to take care of the situation and i gotta tell ya... it felt damn good to see those 2 assholes escorted out of the show.
bottom line - no one fucks with my kid and gets away with it... a true shout out to you and the others and again my sincere thanks. see you at the next show.hrd2imgn wrote:only had one lowlight of the night- some chicks were smoking pot, that is fine whatever, but the fact that a 10 -12 year old girl was right in front of them and they were blowing their smoke right in her face NOT COOL
the rest was fucking great. Shit anytime I hear Hard To imagine it can't get better! I totally was urging Long Road, In My Tree, Brother, Not For You, and Real me... man
I just love this band more every time I see them0 -
Holy fudgeballs, In My Tree!
Can anyone tell me how long this show was?0 -
I am following the fanviews since Europe as I miss 'em...
anyway, both setlists chicago rock but in my tree... ohhhhhh in my tree, wow,
that brought me out today!
well, new version or ol' one, liked them both even... and yup, wish I would have been there.
and it is clear that also the energy and positive vibes seen in Europe continue... wish to be at the other side of the ocean those days, and ahh, happy you American guys...there is no way to peace, peace is the way!
...the world is come undone, I like to change it everyday but change don't come at once, it's a wave, building before it breaks.0 -

After waking up I must say anyone who saw both shows should be on a cloud for a month or two, 49 songs is a pretty healthy dose of PJ>>>>>> Not many bands can do that night after night and hit such highs on songs rarely played, I must say night 1 set list was more unique as said earlier and lasts nights show had all the hits with some rarities,
I would definately make trip back to chicago for another show,0 -
2 fucking sweet setlists.
congrats chitown.
ps : the jeff poster is cool !For the ones who had a notion, a notion deep inside

Holy shit. What an awesome couple of nights. I think night 2 setlist takes the cake. In my tree, last exit, nothingman, present tense, fuckin up! The whole band was on fire last night. Much better 10c seats than night 1 made it that much better. Cant wait to listen to this bootleg.0
-
What a show!! night 2 was unbelievable... 100 times better than night 1 (not that night 1 was bad). I had great seats and the setlist was awesome. Highlights for me - hard to imagine, last exit, present tense, whipping, brother, porch, SOLAT, Fuckin up.
just a great show all around!"hear my name, take a good look, this could be the day."0 -
Both nights Awesome. My only regret is that we weren't under the night sky of Alpine Valley, as these last two days of weather have been absolutely beautiful...
Other than that, perfect.++++++++++++++++++++++++++++0 -
HARD TO IMAGINE!!! IN MY TREE!!! Last Exit! All Night! Present Tense! Whipping! Brother! F--- Up!
I'm not even going to try to compare Night 1 to Night 2. Both nights were amazing, both setlists were amazing, both crowds were awesome. Thanks to 10c; this is the first time I've used my fan club number for an arena show, and the seats weren't bad at all...112 row 18. Got a great view.
I laughed my butt off when Ed starting dancing around with the wig on.
I took my cousin, who has been a fan since day one but has never seen them live. After the show I asked her what she thought, and she turned to me, exhausted, and said, "Until tonight, I've never been to a concert where the band wore out the audience!" That pretty much sums it up.
Overall, I have to say that next to my very first PJ show, these shows over the past 2 nights have been the best I've seen. "Stone is some energetic guy I never saw before Jeff playing the bass at his knees...just love it Boom is still ugly a great pair of nights"
Boom is still ugly but his piano playing is on fire? Boom has been with the band for several years of tours. Pearl Jam picked him as a member, why do people have to boo him and judge him? It's really not our decision, I don't understand why so many fans don't seem to want to accept him.

Who's booing him? Are referring to everyone yelling, "Booooooooom"?0 -
It's been 8 years since I've seen them and was one of the lucky few who got to scream when he asked about 7/11/95. First time I saw them was 10/17/91 in DeKalb, IL as a youngun, so blessed to see them grow over the years.
Unfortunately let my <50K membership lapse long ago and now in the 400Ks so ended up in 218. Having been so long, I wasn't sure how they would compare to their first decade. Gotta say, wife and I were really impressed. The show started slow and, as I'm sure folks have mentioned, Ed actually pointed that out to everybody. Energy from the guys (and the crowd) really grew as the night went on and was just epic toward the end. The setlist struck me as really geared to heavy duty fans, which was great for me, but tough for a lot of the crowd. They were good at reeling 'em back in though when they would drift a little. Really reminded of the mid-90s during the two encores. Although Eddie will never be the same as those early years, I couldn't believe how good he still sounds. The rest of the boys were very much the same level as back then, especially early and late.
The section I was in was infested with a bunch of dullards, but wife and I were bouncing all night. I couldn't get the grin off my face and often found myself eyes closed, letting it all just flow over me, and feeling the old days. My wife kept screaming, "It's like I'm 17 again!"
Only complaint is people are simply not loud enough at expressing their appreciation between sets. I really dislike the passive assumption of two encores, although the break between enc 1 and 2 was louder, it was downright quiet after the first set.
Overall, wouldn't put it in the top 2 or 3, but it was dam good. Good to be back.0 -
you don't think people are booing him? I think people are booing him still. you think they are saying his name? I guess that's one way to look at it. but when all the other guys get this totally energetic, screaming happy at the top of their lungs and then they get to Boom, and I can tell by Booms' reaction, that they are booing him.
on the subject of kids at a show: I had a 10 year old boy in front of me and he obviously couldn't see, so his mom told him to stand on the chair. security originally told him to get off, but after awhile he got back up and they did nothing. taking kids to a show is a tough call. they definitely need to be taller to compete for the view. I'm not allowed to stand on my chair?, while he was standing up I think he was about 7ft tall. about half way thru the show he started to loose interest and just gander around at all the people. I think a kid would need to be really psyched on Pearl Jam to fully absorb a show and all that comes with it. I think if I had a kid, what age would be appropriate, tough call. Eddie uses the F-word alot, all the weed (not that it's bad), and drinking. My 1st concert was 15 years old, general admission and I made it to the main floor, but at 15 I was pretty capable of handling the pushing, drinking and all.
I'm glad the majority of people had a great time. I hope the kids were there enjoyed the show, cause not sure how it will be when they get to be our age..Amy The Great #74594

If audiences were actually booing, do you really think Eddie (and the rest of the band, for that matter) would just let it go? No chance in hell. He'd rip into them without hesitation.0
