I agree for the most part however having worked at Comcast-Spectacor for a couple years and knowing how a few important people think, I highly doubt they would close the Spectrum with "just" Pearl Jam. I could be very wrong but I do think there will be more to these shows.
Yes - and as I've said - it's Social D.
You keep saying this over and over. Have you actually heard this from someone or are you just guessing?
Its these guys..they have a break in their schedule..last show October 25th next show November 3rd..
hey we mind as well keep the rumor mill spinning
Who is that?
People around here have to stop getting their hopes up. The special guests will probably end up being a decent band (likely Social D), but we aren't going to be seeing Soundgarden, Bruce, The Strokes, etc. open up this show. It just won't happen...

im still thinking these 4 days will feature many different walk off guests.
Meaning, there might be different guests each night .

Here I am . . . R-A-W
terrorist, here to bring trouble to
phoney emcees, I move on and sieze
I just conquer, and stomp another rapper with ease
Cause I'm at my apex and others are be-low
nothing but a milliliter, I'm a kilo
Second to none, making emcees run
Also don't try to step to me, cause I ain't the one
I relieve rappers just like Tylenol
and they know it, so I don't see why you all
try to front, perpetrating a stunt
when you know that I'll smoke you up like a blunt
I'm genuine like Gucci, raw like sushi
The Sage of Rage is what rap did to me
To make me want to create chaos and mayhem
cold rock a party, until the A.M.
I'll make a muscle, grab the mike and hustle
while you stand dazed and amazed, I'll bust a little rhyme
with authority, superiority
and captivate the whole crowd's majority
The rhymes I use definately amuse
better than Dynasty or Hill Street Blues
I'm sure to score, endure for more without a flaw
Cause I get RAW!

In July 2007 Densmore said that he would not rejoin The Doors unless it was fronted by Eddie Vedder. Densmore says, "I play with Jim. If there's someone of that level, OK. I'm not gonna join them with Ian. That's not to diss Ian, he's a good singer - but he's no Jim Morrison. Eddie Vedder? My God, there's a singer."
No thanks... I prefer to have my eardrums unruptured at night's end.
I agree. I realize the guys like Sleater Kinney, but man, it can be painful to listen to them.

again, ........
Bruce can easily come out at the encores, toward the end, or even midset.
It says " Special Guest " , not " opening for " or " opening band " ,...
Very True
No Bruce, No AIC
Social D.
the end.
yeah , for the first 2 nights.

PEARL JAM CLOSES THE SPECTRUM WITH FOUR SHOWS
Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 12:51pm
OCTOBER 27 & 28 | WITH SOCIAL DISTORTION
OCTOBER 30 & 31 | WITH BAD RELIGION
OCTOBER 28, 30 & 31 SOLD OUT! LIMITED SEATS FOR OCTOBER 27 REMAIN
Pearl Jam – the final band to perform at the Spectrum in Philadelphia before it is to be razed next year – has sold out three of their four upcoming concerts at the storied venue. The band will take the stage on Tuesday, October 27th, Wednesday, October 28th, Friday, October 30th and Saturday, October 31st. Social Distortion will be support for the first two shows and Bad Religion will be support for the final two.
Pearl Jam released their ninth studio album, Backspacer, in the US on Sunday, September 20 to rave reviews. Rolling Stone gave Backspacer 4-stars. And the Los Angeles Times said, “The lightness and dexterity of the playing throughout Backspacer, and of Vedder’s hard-driving, often playful vocals, come from Pearl Jam’s members taking this music seriously, honing in and nailing it. It’s proof of what a bunch of grown people can accomplish when they know exactly what they want.”
Tickets are available now for the October 27 performance exclusively through ComcastTIX.com, by calling 1-800-298-4200, in person at the Wachovia Complex box office or select Acme Markets. Tickets are also available at LiveNation.com.
