    Bruce's tourdates at this time:

29-Oct New York, NY Madison Square Garden
    2-Nov Washington, D.C. Verizon Center 25-Sep

Yep, I'd say there's a good, good chance it's Bruce Springsteen.

As someone else said, Special Guest is not an opening act. Otherwise, they'd probably be billed.

Not going to be Them Crooked Vultures. Don't really see them playing in an arena anytime soon and especially don't see them opening for anyone. Does not make sense.

Can't wait to see them at ACL. What a great suprise today.

I could still see kings of leon again being an opener. But why not Neil Young as the guest?

you do know, you're all fucktards, and the opener will have nothing to do with your wants, needs, or opinions, right?
    BAN IT!

P.S. why not somebody with energy or someone cool oike nofx, rancid, or presidents of the usa??

    again

none of this will happen. i hope some local pihilly band opens to spite you or, worse yet, KOL.

Are you really serious with this?? I'll have some of whatever you are smoking.
  • there's a good good chance that it's NOFX! OMG. ok i am done for month now,,,
  • it's beyonce!
  • seriously, pearl jam ALONE (which is what i am hoping for) isn;t good enough (for you)? (you) want and OPENER?

    openers are...............

    YAYAYYAYAAYAY!!!!! AWEOSME!!

bad religion. only goo opening band ever.... well... the fastbacks once.... but other than that, terrible

, they like it and so do "you"..... ONLY because..., well....... "THEY" like it.

Didn't they open for Arctic Monkeys in the U.K. last month? I'm sure that was only because of the Josh Homme link, but it could happen. I'd love if it was Neil, but I have no idea what he's up to and if it was Bruce that would be cool...personally I'd love to see a Sleater-Kinney reunion, but that's definitely not going to happen and I'd hate to see them at a PJ show where everyone seems to hate them. If Sonic Youth's free and happened to show up, that would be awesome.
  • blah blah blah
    who cares who opens

Why can't it be an opening act? Most tickets are printed with that ("with special guest") when a band hasn't announced an opener yet, this happens a lot.

something tells me the special guests will be spread out among all 4 nights ?
    ( like 1 night 1 guy/artist , the next night someone different )

its pearl jam for gods sake,
in the end, ...i'm sure we wont be dissapointed.
For the ones who had a notion, a notion deep inside
That it ain't no sin to be glad you're alive

This is a good point. I would love for someone special to come out and play with the guys on the last night, but then again I would love an evening with Pearl Jam. Either way it is going to be absolutely awesome.

It would be really cool if PJ did an acoustic night and only played their acoustic songs! But I think if they were going to do this they would have let people know ahead of time.

You've gotta be kidding me. Such naivety around here.

When opening acts are not announced, usually it's due to contractual obligations of not being allowed to announce shows in a radius of a certain amount of miles from a show taking place or a specific time frame/window prior to another appearance.

This is 99% of the time....the other 1% is just figuring out logistics on shows that don't have enough time in between booking the show and the actual show date - concentration is on announcing the show itself and getting the tix available to the public then worrying about the opening act later.

Besides, Social D is opening the spectrum shows, and they have a show in house of blues in atlantic city i believe.

I agree for the most part however having worked at Comcast-Spectacor for a couple years and knowing how a few important people think, I highly doubt they would close the Spectrum with "just" Pearl Jam. I could be very wrong but I do think there will be more to these shows.

    Yes - and as I've said - it's Social D.

you can't always make BTR every time you go into the studio. its called expanding your horizon, i suggest you do the same. i love magic and working on a dream. i think its some of Bruce's best work . i love how every time he goes into the studio he challenges himself and the band.

really cool that social d is gonna be the opening band. i cant wait for ness and ed to cover johnny cash.
Ron: I just don't feel like going out tonight

I just think it's a good chance because it's the last show at the Spectrum and who has a better history with the venue? Maybe the Dead, but other than that? It's Philadelphia ... Bruce is on the same level as God. They're going to want to close this place out in a big way and what better to bring out Bruce with Pearl Jam? They've played together before, so they're obviously on good terms / like playing together. It fits perfectly into his schedule (it's the day off between NYC and DC...like, perfect).

IDK, I just have a hunch and think it's probably more than just an opening act... if I'm wrong, I'll be the first one to eat my words. I don't think it's outlandish as some people are making it out to be that it could be a big name (Neil Young/Bruce sitting in).

If Social D is really opening all 4 show's,i will end up having a coronary!!!!!
They will be pj's best opening act ever,by a long shot.
These 4 show's will instantly go into my top 10 pj show's iv'e ever witnessed.
And that's even if pj played hey, foxymophandlemama, that's me every song for all 4 nights.
That would all be because of 4 nights with pj/social d would be the greatest concerts ever witnessed! :o

HAIL HAIL THE LUCKY ONES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That includes ME ;):D
