  • Here's a link to video I recorded of the last song, Yellow Ledbetter, and the final bows. I was very close to the front, about 4 feet from the fence (on McCready's side of the stage), so it's a pretty good vantage point. Sorry for the camera moving around a bit at times, but it was pretty crazy up front with people packed in like sardines and everybody bouncing around. I also added a little tribute at the end of the video using still shots from the performance.

On the night I didn't notice Jeff taking that picture for someone in the crowd. What a lovely thing to do :)
If I knew where it was, I would take you there...

Thanks for posting that vid, Tumbling. Just goes to show how much we fans appreciate the band - but also how much the guys appreciate us and the time and emotion we put into their music and shows. Really furthers a unique sense of unity.
  • Some more vids for completeness.

my 1st PJ gig. something I needed to do before i die or get too old, but alas this has only further fueled the passion - BLOWN AWAY.

attended with my 16 yr old daughter, flew hundreds of miles, queued for 7 hours- would do it and more to see them again. We were second row, middle - was worried about my girl coping with crush, HA! " shes way taller than me & was schrieking at big blokes pushing in " MInd My F**King Mother ! ", she Rocks !

cried my eyes out at Light years, song means a lot to me and Alive..which at that moment in time we truely utterly completely were.

fantastic to hear ..well everything, but also I got ID, crazy mary, IN my tree... Mike giving my daughter the thumbs up, Eddies piercing blue eyes burning into individuals in the crowd, watching watching. spray of spit, wine & sweat leaping in the spotlights... all too intense to digest Need to see more photos & vids to piece it all together...

feel the love ! WHAT A BAND, WHAT A CROWD, WHAT A NIGHT!

Got tears in my eyes just reading this.

Here's a clip of Crazy Mary - had to stop it when the outro went on and on ... wish I could have caught it all but my memory was getting low. It ended shortly after I stopped recording, at which point my jaw was wide open and I was completely blown away. Loved it when Ed went off to light a smoke and left the 5 other guys to do their thing ... what a treat!

Anyone else find they can't yet bear to look at the photos/videos that people have posted? Guess my emotions are still too intense right now...

I don't have much to add; I think it's already all been said. Utterly amazing night again.
Try to tell me that you love me, throw your little punches at me...

I think it's good to see what other people have videod, you get to see so much more of what was going on, I missed so much even though I was near the front because I was right on the edge of the crowd on Mike's side, plus sometimes we couldnt see much over the people in front of us...

One of my very favourite moments from the o2 and one that will stay with me for a long time, was all of the boys standing arm in arm on the stage, taking their bows and waving at the crowd.
They looked like they'd had a really great time, they didn't want to leave and I felt proud and priviliged to be a part of that.

Me too!! What an awesome moment, I had a tear in my eye! I loved that show and am still reeling from it, the audience were amazing, the venue looked after everyone really well and the sound was fantastic! Thought the set was great, excellent choices throughout and man did they play well or what!! I loved the intimacy of SBE but I personally feel that the sound quality at 02 was much better, I could hear everything much better and was able to appreciate the intricacies of each instrument in greater detail. I loved the bit where Ed took care of the fans down the front to ensure nobody was getting squashed too, what a band!

I did so much singing that I messed up my throat and now have a bad throat bug - but well worth it!!

Hi this is the first time that im actually posting here. I've tried loads of times to get to a Pearl Jam concert but was never really lucky, every time it ended up with tickets being sold out and now they I could have managed to get tickets, I needed the money for the house I just bought.

After all these years of being one of the followers of Pearl Jam ( which im very proud of ) my day will come, hopefully soon.

hey Alsa :) Don't worry - you will get there! I have been a PJ fan for 17 years and could never get tickets until these two gigs and they were the highlights of my freakin life! I really hope you get to go a show soon! xx

So last Wednesday I randomly checked Ticketmaster when I got home from work and found a standing ticket for the O2, though they were sold out again as soon as I'd bought it. It was clearly meant to be!

Hang on, you got a standing ticket last Wednesday?! What the fuck?!

They must have just released a few extras. I did try at lunchtime, but there was nothing. Just after 5pm I brought up a standing ticket, then a seated one, but the seated one was too far away for my liking, next search brought back nothing at all then tried again right away and got the standing and frantically entered all my details. As I said, I tried again right after buying it and there was nothing at all left. I think some things are just meant to be.

On a different note, I'm now seriously considering a trip to the US for more shows in October, but I'm worried that any shows will have a lot to do to live up to the O2 and I don't want to go all the way over there to possibly lose my enormous PJ concert high. I need to do some thinking over the weekend and investigate all the practical stuff too.
  • aye Myself and daughter are the same, we're rationing out the experience, I'll check out those videos etc tomorrow...don't dare listen to anything yet. Good to know its not just me! so intense, very inspired, some art will come of this for sure.

  • Try as I might to be objective, I simply can't be. That was my first ever PJ live gig and it was one of the best experiences of my life.

I was a little worried as I'd built up all this expectation in my mind prior to going, but I shouldn't have worried, PJ blew those expectations out of the water with a gig I shall keep with me forever.

The set list was spot on. I was surprised they started with "Release" but it was a great way to kick things off. When they played "Black" I was on my feet singing along with the tears streaming down my face. That song has real special meaning for me.

I've never been to a show with 2 encores and the fact they kept coming back & playing just goes to show they are a true band of the people. 10/10 & a new leader on my top ten gigs.

I saw your post when you got tickets and thought you were building it up quite a bit, the guys were going to have to work pretty to meet your expectations. I'm glad they even surpassed them!
we're all going to the same place...

  • 'Release' as the opening song was amazing, sent shivers down my spine. The rest of the set just got better and better. 'Footsteps' was another standout track for me. What can i say, they were all great. They should play the UK more often.
