do you guys really need to go to so many shows on this tour?

Honestly now. I'm seeing how a lot of you are going to 5, 7, 9 or in some cases, even more shows on this tour. I understand how much you love the band and your "need" to see them but aren't you being a bit selfish? I have been trying so hard since pre-sale went on to get tickets for toronto but i have had no luck. It is not feasible for me to travel to Vancouver or chicago (both shows i could of gotten tickets to), yet there are many tc members traveling miles and miles to see these and many other shows.

I simply want tickets to one show (as do many others, both tc and non tc) that is relatively close to me. I don't have much money to travel far, or even keep my tc membership if this is going to be the case with tickets everytime.

I just wish my fellow TC members would be a bit more considerate of others before gobbling up all the pre sale tickets to several shows.

With respect,
jeff

    Yes.
  • i suggest you take up this matter with the fan club. not the fans on the board. the 10c allows us to buy as many shows as we want to attend.

    Jeff,
If you were from the Philly area, I'd understand where you're coming from. Toronto, however, was up for pre-sale for at least a day and a half... it was by no means a hard 10C pre-sale. If I had an extra, I'd help you out, but all I can do is wish you the best of luck finding yourself a ticket!

Years ago, at the age of 15, I started on a secret plot so that I could be in control to see as many shows as I pleased.

    Code named: Got a Job.

Yes, I geared it to my future schedule and financial needs. I think that is called Platter....no......placing....no.....pilfering....no......PLANNING.

There is NOTHING in my list of hobbies that I look forward to more than seeing a tour announcement with dates in cities I have yet to experience and being able to enact my secret plan so that I can go to as many new places and see my favorite band perform and react to the environment and the crowds in those new cities. I get it though.....I squeezed someone out of the Berlin show in 2000, and probably totally fucked over someone at MSG.

NOt sure how else to say this. Don't hate the player?????? Does that fit here???

Finally...where there is a will, there is a way. HAvent you heard Eddie say one something like "not sure how you guys do this, but whether you begged, borrowed or stole to be here, we appreciate you coming"........

I can help you start on a similar secret plan if you like??? Send me 50 bucks and I will repeat this email to you...

We should ask 10C to add a relationship question to the sign up form. Are you married to a fellow 10c member? If yes and female, they need our approval.

Yeah I can where you're coming with having difficulty to pay for travel in a time of recession. I've traveled before the economy was so tough, but have been staying home to to see PJ the last year, but that's what makes these PJ fans so special, this may be vacation for some people that are seeing them so many times, and I could not think of a better way to spend a vacation than a PJ concert.

is tough but that's the way it is, I'm going to just one show maybe 2 if I'm lucky but it is what it is.

I'm only going to 3 shows so I guess I'm off the hook with the OP :D But seriously it's luck to who get tickets to each show. Some people can afford to travel and good for them. I have travelled many times to se a PJ show and will again. It's the nature of Pearl Jam fans.

exactly... not sure how anyone missed out on shows this year (well apart from the couple of first announced Philly shows and a couple others). Generally it has been easy to get 10c tickets this year.

First off, yes this is for real.

Secondly, to whoever told me to get a job: I am a college student and the entire point of going to school is so someday i can get a job. But until then i am living on a very fixed income.

And finally, I was un aware of when the presale started. Sometime around may im guessing, a time i am very busy and do not check this site often.

But then this brings up another question. What about ten club members without access to a computer or internet? Are they to be denied the opportunity to get pre sale tickets? Why should a fan be screwed if they do not have a computer?

    PURCHASING TICKETS
•Ten Club pre-sale tickets will be available online only at www.pearljam.com in the Goods section. No phone, e-mail, or mail orders will be accepted.

This has been the policy for a long time and it was when you purchased your membership
  • I do understand your frustration to a point. The get a job comment earlier was uncalled for to say the least. Especially in this economy, but sometimes I feel like the 10c is damned either way. Limit the number of tickets and people complain, don't limit the number of tickets and people complain. Do tickets by seniority people complain, don't do it by seniority, people complain etc...

and regarding the computer comment, believe me, you do not want to go back to the days of mailing in money orders. I know you say you aren't on the website a lot but it doesn't hurt to check from time to time so you don't miss out on the presales.

Why stop there. What if a fan has no money. Or lives in El Salvador. What if they have no running water or a river with which they can travel down to the nearby town with the witch doctor who can decipher signs from above as to when the 10Club will hold their next sale?

Fuck, never thought about any of this. I dont know how so many people have it all figured out and the hand full out there that havent yet are still unprotected.

I would love to protest outside of the TenClub for equal rights to those that havent figured it out yet, but like Mitch Hedburg said, "Im against protesting, but I dont know how to show it."

i can see the OPs frustration. not everybody makes a living enough to travel all over to see the band. the band has the luxury of playing where and when it wants and yes, this limits chances for people to see them. i know myself i am taking a total of 3 vacation days and have probably spent about $1000 to see Chicago 2 and L.A. 3 this year tickets, flights, etc,. i am a bit of a freak though and set aside money into a "Pearl Jam Fund" in my savings account that is used for touring seasons and things like these re-issues. again, frustrations understood there OP. good luck getting what you need. :)

you really ARE serious about this... What do you expect, a phone call letting you know about an onsale? When was the last tme Ticketmaster called you to let you know about a concert you MIGHT be interested in will be going onsale? Best bet is to keep your eye on this board especially a day or so before the show... Tickets ususally crop up.

ACTUALLY...the get a job comment is as real and as straight forward as it can be. IF you can afford it, you have a right to spend your money when and where you chose. If you cannot, you need to decide what you are going to do. I guarantee that once this person makes it through college, if they have the resource and the will to see Pearl Jam ten times on one tour, they wont appreciate a college freshman complaining that they were unable to secure tickets because their 1780's Rural Farming in Panama class was too demanding for them to find out when a presale starts.

don't worry mate. it took me an undergraduate and master's degree and finally graduating in 2004 and finishing licensure 3 years ago to actually start making enough to put away for things like this. you'll get there!
