metsfan - just want to point out something in case you aren't aware?

I checked the Holiday Singles in the Goods section and it said the same thing for every one of them -

"1995 TEN CLUB HOLIDAY SINGLE. MEMBERS PAY SHIPPING/HANDLING ONLY. $4.00/US, $7.00/Rest of world. LIMIT 1 Per Member, NOT FOR RESALE."

By all means, if you've got to throw up - better out than in!

That person is always saying nasty things and of course tries to turn it around on us, saying we make that person feel shit...

We did not do that, that person who did it was already feeling like that - because of the fact that he or she got caught.

Did it ever occur to you that maybe people flip things to get by in life and survive and not be homeless. Did it ever occur that just maybe not to judge people by a cover and ask questions. maybe mitch needs that money to feed his kids or to pay for gas to heat his house this winter. Not everyone that sells things is in it to be greedy and a lowlife like you make them out to be.

Oh and for that little bit bout me selling my merch. It was called sarcasm, you should try it sometime instead of judging people right away.

As for my holiday singles I got them all through people having extra's. Again way to go in judging people right way. Least you're always on the ball.

It is hard to detect sarcasm here, especially on the internet. So my apologies for not getting that one.

Who said I called them lowlife? Show me where I said that?

I asked for honesty and fairness... and if that is what is really happening in their lives, then perhaps they should go by Ten Club? Otherwise it is going to be difficult believing people and anyone can lie about their situation.

For all you know, I could be lying about how bad things really are... and I'm not really at the possibility of losing my house?

I'd risk my 10c if I really thought it was that important to sell my valuable items and explain that to people... no need to hide and lie about it.

This person lied about it and covered his ass, it's obvious. That is not cool.

There is nothing morally or ethically wrong with buying the ticket thru ticketmaster and reselling it to the highest bidder.

He didn't break any ten club rules so you should all get off his case. Seriously... I hope none of you downers are coming to Philly because you're totally going to harsh our good vibe.

And all you jokers talking about karma might be missing the whole point here... maybe the OP is a fantastic guy and it was karma that allowed him to pull a valuable ticket so he could sell it and make some cash.

iammine, he covered his ass cause you judged him right away. I even saw the post he got the idea from. maybe you should really ask questions first instead of judging people right away. If you gotta sell your pj merch to get by in life I think people will understand. honestly who gives a shit bout what people think of you, you know who you are and that's all that matters in life.

He should have stood by what he said if that's really what happened. I don't buy it since he changed the page and then the information here when he got caught.

If I had to sell my stuff to get by, I will - by being honest about it and letting 10c know about it to save them the headaches of finding out later.

No, I don't care what people think of me... obviously I really don't, otherwise I wouldn't have went on and on like this.

No he didn't break any 10c rules on his TM tickets, On2Legs.

But why do you think Ten Club exists and offering us good seats/products at fair prices so we don't have to go through that?

Is it fair for him to turn around and pull that on us?

I'm sorry the vibes aren't good here... I really hope you have a great time in Philly.

I'm done for the night because the kids just walked in the house, so good night to everyone.

    WTF?

He never "pulled" anything on anyone here.

He put the ticket up on ebay and never mentioned it on this board. It was someone else that posted the auction on this board, not him. You're making it sound like he spammed the board trying to drum up business for his ebay auction.

    This whole argument is retarded.

Do ever read the newspaper or watch the news and see the heinous things people do to each other? And you're killing this guy for reselling a concert ticket he bought from ticketmaster?

    Stop. Just stop.

It's not in the spirit of the 10c??? 10c gouges plenty and Last I checked PJ is sellin tix with TM, which is where the guy bought it.

Not somethin I would do, but it's not my ticket either.

There are some people on here that really need to worry about other things. You complain and ask, "Is this what the band would want you to do?"
My question is, do you go around in life and consult the band and/or the TenClub and ask them before you do something in order to stay within their thoughts and beliefs? Probably not.
I love my wife more than anything, but I know damn well I do things that she doesn't agree with. I love Pearl Jam, but I know damn well I probably do things they don't agree with. Does this make it wrong on either example? In their eyes, maybe, but not in mine.

I must be "fucking full of shit" because I would not do that.

I had 125xxx tickets to MSG 2 last year. When picking up my tickets I had obvious scalpers offering me $800 in the lobby for my tickets, just knowing I had TC tickets, even without them knowing they were good tickets. Since I used to work at MSG, I could have easily sold them for $800, and still bought great tickets thru my connections on the day-of, and pocketed at least $600 (probably a lot more). Did I? ...fuck no.

I'm sorry you think that I would, and that 100% of everyone else would too.

lets give the guy a break,

it was someone on here who suggested he do it,

in the end 120 with posters for a front row ticket is a great price for all those involved

that fan will have the concert of his life you cant put a price on that

and to add i would never sell a ticket for above face
  • tacettacet Posts: 323
    I'm just curious.
Say you had a ticket for something that wasn't Pearl Jam, let's just say a Super Bowl ticket for instance.
Would you sell that for face if you found out you couldn't go?

huge huge difference between 10c tix and ticketmaster tix. The guy bought the tix fair and square on ticketmaster.com and is free to do whtever the fuck his heart desire. Is it a bit high sure it is but when you're using that money to help fund the rest of your to see the band,I really don't see the problem.

The issue of the ticket being a 10c vs a TM thing is a non-issue, isn't it?
He couldn't sell it if it was a 10c ticket.

Good for Mitch. He got $120 for it. What's the big deal. It wasn't a 10c ticket.

Also, people who have the same 10C board name as their eBay name have threads like this happen.

    EXCELLENT question!

I'll jump in. If the game was way out of my state, I would not have bought the ticket to begin with. If I bought it for the hell of it anyway, and decided I could not go, I would instead try to convince a friend, or a friend of a friend, to buy it from me for face and fees. After that, I'm not sure what I'd do to get rid of it, but I'm pretty confident I'd be able to sell it to someone I know for face and fees.

Since that Superbowl scenario never will happen with me, I'll answer it in a more real-life scenario. I had 4 extra Radiohead tickets a year or so ago. It sold out very quickly thru TM. Craigslist.org had tons of people scalping. A girl had put up a message on craigslist saying she was sickened at all the scalping, meanwhile those who simply wanted to just buy a ticket on TM couldn't, because of all the scalpers flooding TM to buy them and resell them for higher. I liked what she said, so I emailed her and I sold her my extra four tickets. She drove over 200 miles round trip to pick them up and to personally thank me for not increasing the problem of scalping. I did however make probably 80 cents because she refused the change I tried to give her from her cash.

Thank you, but I don't think I should be commended. I guess I'm old-school, as I wish scalping (reselling for profit) was still illegal. Anyone who says it's ok for people to scalp, all I can say is that none of you really have any right to complain if you can't get tickets for events (particularly thru TM) because the scalping that you are defending (which the band has stood against) is the reason TM sells out even faster than natural demand creates.

[Anyone who says it's ok for people to scalp, all I can say is that none of you really have any right to complain if you can't get tickets for events (particularly thru TM) because the scalping that you are defending (which the band has stood against) is the reason TM sells out even faster than natural demand creates.

I think there is a difference here...one can not support scalping and still think it's childish and holier than thou to try and rat out a 10C member for selling a Ticketmaster ticket.
