I can see how there is a certain dilemma to all this (which is only exacerbated if you are in financial trouble), but the whole idea of flipping something (anything really) without putting your own work into it is what got the world into the trouble its in. People being opportunistic and greedy. Hope karma catches up with you one day.

Doesnt' matter... it reflects him as a 10c member and Ten Club doing their best to give their members the best seats at a fair price... and this is how he pays them back and also treating the PJ community by charging so much for the front row seat?

And I do not kiss asses.... it's what I believe in - do what's right and treat/respect others how you want to be treated/respected.

I do the same for my other community - holding others accountable and be honest. I also treat them with respect and do not do things for my own personal interests.

I get shit on just like I get shit on here.... but I'm still a member of both communities. :P

So you can think whatever you want of me... I'm used to being rejected all the time and I know who my real friends are.

Actually it does matter. ITS HIS property not 10c. He can do whatever he wants with the ticket. You aren't doing any good by always being a rat when a ebay ticket auction comes up. I swear I'm gonna become a ticketmaster flipper with the name metsfan just to piss people like you off. That's great you have friends. Do you rat them out to the cops for speeding or blowing a stop sign or passing through redlights.

Leave the guy alone... who really cares? Its his ticket and if he can get that much then good for him.

BTW... how come all you anti-flippers didn't jump on the guy in the original thread who suggested he sell the ticket to pay for his whole tour? That's probably where he got the idea in the first place.

    Lighten up everyone :)

You must mean "THEIR" ticket, and that it's "sickening". What brings the community down are people like mitchmoose2. This community practices what they preach most of the time in terms of getting good seats into the hands of good fans at good prices, and clearly he does not believe in helping each other out like this.

It is funny the holier than thou attitude here as the band has been drifting away from this for some time. PJ ticket prices have gone up WAY more than simple inflation. That's a fact Jack.

Of course, selling this ticket for that amount is obscene...I hope he gets shut out of 10C ticket in the future (not banned, just misses out) and has to scalp tickets for the rest of his life.

I agree that their prices have gone up, and yes more than inflation. I still think it has to do with their music getting pirated, so they've lost a lot of record sales and had make it up elsewhere. I've complained before about their ticket prices, but at least it's understandable when considering the revenue they're losing on the other side of things.

...and your other comment about having to scalp tickets for the rest of his life, that truly WOULD be poetic justice!

  • Other fan clubs kick you out for selling ANY tickets to their shows above face. Dave Matthews Band guidelines include reselling of TM tickets as grounds for membership revocation. You should see the witchhunts on their boards when it comes to eBay, StubHub, craigslist, etc, etc, etc....

It definitely wasn't cool of the seller to come on the boards all excited for a once in a lifetime opportunity to attend PJ from the front row and then to try and turn it into a winning lottery ticket but that's how things are these days. Right, wrong or otherwise....

Wow guys well I can honestly say I wasn't expecting to start my lunch break today with an inbox full of angry messages accusing me of thievery. I apologize if anyone has taken offense to the "buy it now price" I put on the ticket. Not sure if anyone noticed but there was a "best offer" option. Also I did not make any effort to advertise my listing on here. My original post was made way before I came to the conclusion I'd have to sell it. My whole intention in putting such a high buy it now price was to help pay for the rest of the tour like others on this board suggested I do. With money being extremely tight right now I found that to be a great option. Anyway I'm not posting this with anger or the intention to finger point but merely just to defend myself. I'm not a fan of contention in any way, shape, or form. Anyway he goes...
I've been trying to make a deal with one of the members off this board for the ticket for the last couple days. He told me the most he could give me cash would be $120 but he'd be willing to trade a few posters for it as well. So after talking to him on the phone we made a deal. He was suppose to make the ebay offer sometime tomorrow night but with an inbox full of angry/hateful messages I texted him to see if he could do it sooner (seeing that my listing was offending so many people) and he agreed.
Anyway thats that. Don't feel anymore obligation to have to explain myself anymore than that. I can say I'm a bit disappointed on some of the things that have been said about me. I would hope people might ask questions before they run to make conclusions or judgements. I love this band and am truly bummed I can't attended that show. But I'm glad someone who shares my same passion can. Again sorry if I offended anyone that wasn't my intention.

You know...someone who shares your passion could have seen the show in that seat for face value if you hadn't bought and flipped it. ;)

Don't let anyone bring ya down. It's your ticket to do what you want. Though, if you had sold it for $1700 I was hoping karma would bite you back.

Like I said I don't begrudge you for selling your ticket for as much as you might get..... but you have to expect this board to rip you to shreds for it.

Also calling some dude out for trying to sell a ticketmaster ticket for $120.00 doesn't make you look too good either.

Yeah I realize that person was selling 'on the board', and you were going through eBay, but still.......

Hope you got some cool posters, and I'm sure the person who got that ticket is psyched and whatever they gave up will be well worth it.

Now go change your eBay user name to something nondescript. ;):D
