Oh, most def. With Iron Maiden a relatively distand second.
PJ is the only band where I actually bother checking message boards, following set list threads and actually travel abroad to catch a show. I love music, but no other band, for me, is worth spending that much time on.
Pearl Jam are my fave,I cant see that changing in this life time
This might sound daft, but i feel like i,m a better person for absorbing pj lyrics(a betterman? )
I was just talking to a friend after the rotterdam show how every other band now just seem moderate
I would love another band to come into my life and have a similar impact,i guess it wont happen, but ya never know.
I felt the same way about Led Zep. No band would ever touch 'em. ............ then came Pearl Jam.

Troubled Souls Unite
Uncle Tupelo
Blind Melon (Shannon Hoon was maybe the most amazing thing I have ever seen on a stage)
Centro-matic
Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros (I like The Clash but this was greatness)
Radiohead
The Who
Wilco
The Black Crowes (Especially with Marc Ford)
Elliott Smith and Chris Whitley aren't bands but I am absolutely blown away by what both were doing
All are pure genius
And My favorite 'hard rock' bands of all time are UFO (Would sell a kidney to see Flight to Mars) and Thin Lizzy
Pearl Jam all the way. I don't listen to nor am I any where as dedicated to a band's music as I am with Pearl Jam. I would say Alice In Chains is second and U2 3rd
yup. here are my top 4.
PJ
Radiohead
My Morning Jacket
Wilco
Love three of the bands on that list, can't stand MMJ. They died for me when they opened up for Pearl Jam in 2006, it was awful, the performance that I saw. Anyways, wilco and radiohead are both amazing bands. Did you get "Wilco (The Album)"?
1) Creed
2) NickelBack
3) Moist 4) Kanye West
5) Sugar Ray
6) Right said Fred
7) Scat Man John
8) Ace Of Bace
9) Let's not forget the MC HAMMER
10) And I guess Pearl Jam
Sorry about that ... Yes Pearl Jam is my favorite followed closely by The Gits and Mudhonney
Hey! I like Bush. They do not belong on that list. Take them off. Take them off right now!
Sorry ... I will oblige you only because I don't like to judge peoples music tastes

Yes, PJ is my favorite band. Has been for many years, and I am sure it will continue to be that way. My music taste goes through phases, usually with me being completely absorbed by the music of one band or another for weeks or months on end. But I always come back to PJ. Moreover, there is no other band that I follow the same way as I do with PJ. In general, there are very few mainstream current bands that I even listen to very much.
For me, the other bands that are on the same level as Pearl Jam (or vice versa) are:
Led Zeppelin
The Who
Pink Floyd
Radiohead
Those are the only bands whose music captivates me across the entire spectrum of their careers. For each of those bands there is not an album that I don't love. Interestingly, only one of them is a contemporary band. Even among that company, Pearl Jam is still my run-away favorite.

hmm are pearl jam may favorite????
spent shitload of money for cds, records, posters and other memorabillias, and attended hundred of shows... my answer is YOU GOD DAMN RIGHT THEY ARE!!!!!!!!
I'll put it this way...they are the only band I shell out money for (fan club money, CD purchases, concert tickets) each and every year, which at 37 is not normal according to my family. My sister says I am immature for still belonging to a fan club for a band nearing twenty years since I became a fan. (Mozart doesn't have a fan club...)

They were for a few years but these days have been surpassed by the mighty Wilco.
To put it in another perspective, I've traveled long distances and taken time off from work to see 3 bands in my lifetime (so far), the Grateful Dead, Pearl Jam and Wilco.

Heh -- I would argue that Mozart fans can spend as much, if not more, money than PJ fans do. Symphony tickets and recordings of all of those performances of one's favorite works can add up, you know. And they might call it "season tickets to the New York Philharmonic," but we know it's membership in a fan club.

I like plenty of other bands, but I wouldn't go to the extremes I do with PJ with any other band. Also I just find Eddie to be the best singer I have ever heard.
