I'm honestly still suprised that PJ does General admission shows still. I'm cool with jumping up and down and pogoing to the music but the crowd surfing not so much. PJ shows are best for just embracing and watching pure musical greatness. I hope the ACL crowd behaves better.

I was there and as soon as I walked around for 5 minutes I was shocked PJ said yes to this! At the base of a ski hill seriously? How much more dangerous can it get? The ground had holes everywhere and you were standing on a forward slope.
The show was fantastic but you could see/hear Ed was concerned for the entire performance. The venue was ridiculously set up and begging for someone to get hurt or worse yet...killed.
With Pearl Jam still a big draw, I can't understand why they said yes to a potential catastrophe like the COP grounds provided.
Glad that everyone made it out alive

The San Fran general admission shows in 2006 were not this bad with regard to crowd slamming.
You couldn't be more wrong bro. I was right up front both sides night one and two and it got hectic up there on both sides. Girls were screaming, crying, people trying to fight others that were pushing. Nothing like that kindergarten pack in that video.
That video is a great example of why PJ shows should not be GA... those douchebags need to be confined to their seats.
agreed. :(
I love Canada. I love being Canadian. But Canadian concert goers are often douches. Either too obnoxious or too quiet.
(Although, Buffalo fans are f'in annoying too.)

huh, I was about 8-10 rows back on Mike's side, there was probably one time where it was bad ... but not this bad.
I know Ed told us all to take care of each other and that he didn't want to be forced to play a bunch of slow songs, but, from where I was each night, nothing like this.

They can be douches when they come to the US, a la many Tragically Hip shows I've seen

haha - was that taken @ philly? that is how i remember the spectrum show in 03' - 40 flippin peeps in a row for 20. You philly peeps better stay outta my row on 10/30 and hopefully 10/31
I'm really surprised people think this video shows an unruly GA crowd. You really have not experienced "up front" if think this is bad. The fact that the guy was able to stand there and not get bumped all over the place while he filmed should be evidence enough.
that was the most painfully bro-ish thing ive ever seen... so many backwards hats, bandanas, and frosted tips... as if that festival lineup wasnt already bad enough... the crowd look like that??
to all the "why are you paying attention to the crowd anyway?" folks... theres no way those frat boys wouldnt have distracted everyone from enjoying the show to its fullest
thanks for the link though! the song sounded pretty good live
the crowd was definitely a bunch of douche bags but who cares. atleast these kids are experiencing some sick ass music (which I can guarentee is better then anything they normally listen to) and are having a good time.

thank god.

Good performance.
Boom is lurking in the wings ... it wouldn't be that tough.

is there really some douchnozzle wearing 3-D glasses in the crowd? Did I really see that???

Dear Guy in the white shades,
This was not a rave. you don't need to dance like that. You're a tool.

Well, it WAS the first time they've ever played it live.
Also, the audio on that guy's camera is far from perfect.
Give it a chance.
