Bring on Dr. Dog--- they tore it up at Musikfest in Bethlehem last night! Seriously, when a band can sell every single piece of merch (every t-shirt and cd) at a show, you know they're on the fast track to greatness

Which band member is Ted Leo a friend of? Seriously? That is the only explanation on why they open ANY show (let along M.S. f*cking G. in 2008).

I'm guessing Ted Leo is a friend of Jeff's.

after seeing them a bunch of times last year I will also request this, in not so much a whining / copy / paste way :) , also they'll be in toronto so i'll get them there.

Dredg just rocked Philly, let's get them to open up (if you don't know who they are check them out now, you can thank me later). Bad Religion would be Bad Ass aslo !
Wouldn't it be funny if the world ended in 2010, with lots of fire?

I agree, they are pretty terrible and had to watch them 4 times last tour.... :(

Get Bad Religion for the Philly shows!

Ted Leo is much more suited for small clubs- their music is not suited for big arenas.I had few people give me some CD's before had and it was not bad
    -
And he was no where close to as bad as the Buzzcocks were in 2003.

I saw Ted Leo at MSG last year. Seemed OK to me. Didn't really spark me to buy his album, but I've seen far, far, far worse from PJ openers.

I must be in the minority cause I enjoyed Ted Leo... He and his band are much better in clubs but he and his band are well respected in the indie scene and they've put out some reall good stuff...

However, I agree that Bad Religion would OWN

I'd rather a man on stage punching giraffes than to hear Ted Leo EVER AGAIN

from the wise words (well..changed by me) of Jeremy Piven...

We're going to war and dont even get me started on Ted Leo..we are the fans and they are the enemy..never again!

I just can't believe Ted Leo would inspire such strong opinions one way or another. He was just sort of there ...

As far as Pearl Jam openers go....Ted Leo was better than The Buzzcocks.

But yeah, fuck Ted Leo and give me BAD RELIGION IN PHILLY

I think I might enjoy seeing him in a club. As it is, I saw him at Camden and at Mansfield, and he was ... too loud. I mean, painfully loud, and we were wearing earplugs. I'm willing to accept the explanation others have offered, that he was having sound issues, but yikes!

I am in too, NO TLP..
  • What is it with Pearl Jam and recycling openers on multiple tours? I can't think of any other band who does that. It's annoying, especially when Sleater Kinney and Ted Leo are among the recyclables.

which band member is gonna have to make that telephone call?

"sorry ted... everyone on the message board seems to think you suck... were just gonna play for an extra hour instead... we want to keep our sensitive fans happy... and its not like we already made the official announcement and you already started getting your shit together to play those shows..."

i never said he sucked...he was ok-ish....but the 4 times i saw him last year is more than enough for one life time!!....and the Philly shows are special so they should do something special for the fans imo.

I think Ted's unemployment & foodstamps ran out so they are taking them to Canada out of pity!

They're playing the shows....isn't that special enough?

PJ fans who live in like Kansas or Nebraska probably want to strangle all of us who are in driving distance to Philly.
