    Question for you all

Who prefers standing to seats at a venue like sbe? I've never sat at pj before and been front row a few times, but sbe looks very interesting from the balcony. Taking in the show from a close distance and not jostling for position? Then do all that at the 02 and Manchester!!!!

That's a good point, but PJ are not the kind of band you can sit down to!

I've had to sit at a few shows and it really depends on the type of gig. The "Audience with Greg Dulli & Mark Lanegan" shows were seated and that was fine, it was a laid back acoustic gig, but I saw Neil Young & Crazy Horse at the NEC and PJ in Newcastle, Australia and sitting down sucked so bad! Some shows just demand that you jump around!
as a rule, I can't sit at concerts. ask the people that were at Crowded House with me ;)

Lanegan-Dully that's ok, really mellow.. Ed was limit, I jumped to my feet at the first chord of Porch!
But I cannot possibly physically sit down at a PJ show. I mean it literally impossible. you'd tie me to the chair I'd rip it off the floor!
and whilst you don't have to actually seat in the US, we all know that at UK shows, you get hassled both by people around you and security for not seating down
that's why I don't go to gigs if I can't get standing floor, I get annoyed and other people get annoyed and it spoils the show for me..

good thing I've now secured a standing tix for SBE :D , but I would have rather stood right at the back of L3 than seat anywhere.

Number of shows attended is like a pissing contest here... Why this need to compare number of shows? Nothing lame in having seen them 11 times compared to 50, 100 or whatever numbers there are floating about. Nothing lame in having seen them just once.....
I was just pointing out how crazily in love with the band (and the fans) I fell.
I'm not saying it makes me a better fan than someone that saw just 10 shows in 15 years.. I'd rather have been at those shows 15 years ago (I got excuses ;)).. but I wasn't and kind of making up for lost time.
Plus It's as much about the travelling with friends than seeing the shows now anyway. An excuse for a trip and parties :P

this is the only time aside from the Astoria that I didn't secure tickets directly when I tried.. and I have now got 1 anyway. It isn' t that hard (well, TM is but that's why we have 10c  ) and most places overseas are WAY easier to get tickets than the UK.

Isn't it? I must be doing something seriously wrong then because it's been totally impossible for me thus far (at least, outside of the Ebay route it has, and I haven't resorted to that quite yet).

Congrats on getting sorted out though :)

i meant not hard for normal shows.
this one is much harder obviously... but it's possible. be patient. (and if you're a Londoner, get your ass there on the day.. miracles happen, I've seen several at the Astoria)

I know, patience is a virtue. I am plugging away at HMV and Ticketweb (although the later seem to have pulled their listing).

I'm not in London, but I am considering travelling down ticketless on the day regardless. Thing is, that's money that could be spent having a good time on the 18th if I end up locked out... decisions, decisions...

Pissing in the wind I think. I may go down there on the night with a PJ shirt on and see what happens if there's a good 10clubber who has got a spare should I not get one via this thread, long shot but it's a shot.

Would have been brill to be a 10c only gig. More of us would have been happy. But 10c only offered about 50 - 100 pairs I think according to reports. I have said earlier, the O2 is going to be mega. But it's just another day now knowing they are playing the SBE. I will be more enthused come the 18th I hope.

  • Hi Guys, some bad news I'm afraid. Mr Faded Glory has withdrawn his spare ticket. The fact that he was even on the list in the first place was somewhat a mistake on my part, as I assumed that a post he made last week meant that a ticket was definitely available, in fact he was waiting till today to find out if a friend of his wanted a ticket, and he did. So unfortunately we are left with two tickets for the whole lottery :(

The fact that you generous people agreed that I should have the first spare ticket means, unfortunately that those two spare tickets are now one spare ticket for the 40+ of you left of the list...

This is such a disappointment for me, while I am of course so grateful to all of you that decided I should have a ticket, I also really wanted to get enough spare tickets so that all of you had a reasonable chance of getting a spare. Thank you for all of the effort everyone has put into this, the draw for the single ticket will still be held on Thursday.

Noone is going to complain about you getting the first ticket dude. You deserve it. It's a shame more haven't come forward with spares, many will have given to friends who may not be that much into PJ, that's the ticket holders call, but I think we are asking alot!

There is still a 1/45 chance of those left on the list getting a ticket, which is probably about the better odds than the general sale was!

My mrs' first ever gig was PJ at Wembley. She didn't know of them in the slightest. I have took her to more gigs since and she is going to see PJ again with me at 02. I have everything they have ever done, yet it's bizarre she's seen them as many times I have!

For one day only, my folks will be level with me on PJ gigs (i got them into the band, they are seeing them at Manchester) which is a scary thought!

Agreed completely, giving it to a PJ fan, especially a former tenclubber is happy days. Thanks for letting us know dude.

No need to feel guilty mate... you've earned it! :)

It's a shame the tickets were so difficult for us 10C members to get hold of. Ah well, it's not the only UK show planned (like was the case with the Astoria when they hadn't been over here for 6 years in 2006). ...We've still got the O2 and Manchester to look forward to! :)
