This could work. Please don't think I am against such an idea, all I wanted with this idea was to get as many fans tickets as possible.

What we could do is, if more spares come up, start checking and removing the 20+ people who have yet to confirm that they still need tickets and replace them with those who missed the deadline. For example if from now on 15 people pull out of the draw they could be replaced with 15 who may have missed the deadline? I don't want to disappoint those who are already on the list by reducing their chance, but I also don't want to disappoint other fans who may have missed the 9am deadline.

You can take my name off the list now. I got 10C lottery tickets on Tuesday night (lucky as fuck) and I didn't even see this thread until now, sorry!

This thread is proof that there are truly good people amongst all the whining bullshit on here. Ames you are a legend, I hope you get a ticket one way or another - you really deserve it.

  • That is really weird. My two tickets are still in my basket and I have periodically tried it every hour or so since Tue and the general link but to no avail.

If HMV are now allowing certain tickets to go out despite our complaints for them messing up our links then that is just shoddy.

Although if more people get through maybe there will be more spare tickets for the lottery!

I think everyone deserves a fair chance, as long as we go with our original criteria that they could not get 10c or HMV or other tickets, etc etc and are members of the fan club, not just the message board :)

I think we are all 100% for Ames having the first available spare ticket :)) I think what is also nice is that since this idea was first thought of and then developed there has been a particularly strong community feel on here and a great level of support. Ok, so there has been some whining but then that is what happens when passionate music fans are fucked over by some corporate giants :) I'm pretty sure that once we've all seen the SBE or 02 shows we'll feel like new people anyway :)

I personally cannot wait for the 02 show, having waited years and years to get a chance to see Pearl Jam due to never been able to get tickets or afford it before :-) Am pretty sure it's gonna be the event of my life :))

Well you've got a hell of a first gig to look forward to! I was lucky enough to be at The Astoria and The Vic in Chicago, so SBE is like completing my own Holy Trinity! It's actually the shortest distance I've ever had to travel for a PJ gig (9 and half thousand miles being the furthest!) but possibly the most excited I've ever been!

I gotta say, i'm all for everyone getting a chance to go to this gig, but i'm not crazy about this particular idea. the whole idea (from what i gathered) with the want list (and the spares list) is that we whittle it down to a reasonable number of people who want a ticket, and make it a lottery where number small people have a decent chance of getting a ticket.

There's 67 currently people wanting tickets, to add people just cos they missed a deadline (a deadline that was stressed by Ames) is too bad really, it is, but by adding say 10 tomorrow that would replace the 10 that got tickets today turns the whole thing into a bit of a farce.

Some might not agree but that's just the way I feel

My HMV tickets were still in the box for about two days. I kept trying it but just kept saying the event was sold out. Not a great deal of fun but good news those who were lucky.
    :D Rock on!!!! :D
Seen Pearl Jam 4 times in London, once in Manchester, as well as an Eddie show at Hammersmith.
  • Im off on holiday now, just wanted to say good luck to everyone and I hope as many of you as possible get rewarded 8-)

I have mixed feelings because, of course, on the one hand I understand how much everyone desperately wants to go...but on the other, to put new people on does kinda negate the point of having a deadline....
Try to tell me that you love me, throw your little punches at me...
  • It does. Ok well if that's decided, then no more names are to be added to the spares list.

JOEJOEJOE, and others, I am sorry. But it seems the people have spoken. The deadline was set up for a reason, but I am sorry that people missed out.

    hey all

I noticed on a couple of other threads that there are some who are bolded (on the list from the first page) that now have tickets through whatever means, it'd be great of those people would just notify us on this thread that you have.

almost every single words of that I could have said myself!! (apart from the max distance...so far it's 5400 miles, one way).

Astoria was my first PJ gig (at bloody last! and I didn't get ticket myself for it, thank for PJ fans generosity), even ended up front row.. I grinned stupidly for 2 days after , literally!
..and it started a very unhealthy (for my wallet) addiction and very healthy friendships.. hitting 50 shows at Seattle in September, a week before my birthday!

It's admirable of you folks to supply your spares :) WELL DONE ! :)

Let's face it tho, more of us could've been going if the tix were just made available to 10c members in the first place :|

I see some of the auctions on ebay reaching over £700 for a pair :o

I tried both sales, no luck, was on hold on the phone from 8.59 til 9.18am on Thursday, to be told, "Oh I'm sorry, the Pearl Jam tickets are all gone.." :|

I'm sure the gig will be packed with 10c members.....unfortunately a lot of them will have handed over hundreds of pounds to a 'middle man'........so, exactly who benefits from this bloody ticketing system ? ? :|

Never mind.........I'll see you in Manchester then guys :D
    I came, I saw, I concurred.....

50th show around your birthday, nice work! I've only been to 10 so far, the first was Finsbury Park in 1993 and the last 2 were the MSG shows last year. Astoria was a hell of a gig for it to be your first, you could end up with crazily high expectations after that! :D

I don't know if you saw the guy in the front row at the Astoria, between Mike and Ed, wearing a Led Zep t-shirt? He went a bit nuts when Mike threw that Zep riff into Yellow Ledbetter because Robert Plant was there?...

    that was me!

    Question for you all

Who prefers standing to seats at a venue like sbe? I've never sat at pj before and been front row a few times, but sbe looks very interesting from the balcony. Taking in the show from a close distance and not jostling for position? Then do all that at the 02 and Manchester!!!!

That's a good point, but PJ are not the kind of band you can sit down to!

I've had to sit at a few shows and it really depends on the type of gig. The "Audience with Greg Dulli & Mark Lanegan" shows were seated and that was fine, it was a laid back acoustic gig, but I saw Neil Young & Crazy Horse at the NEC and PJ in Newcastle, Australia and sitting down sucked so bad! Some shows just demand that you jump around!

50 shows in 3 and a half years?! That's insane. This euro tour will bring me up to 11 (Astoria was my first too), seems kinda lame in comparison :p

Number of shows attended is like a pissing contest here... Why this need to compare number of shows? Nothing lame in having seen them 11 times compared to 50, 100 or whatever numbers there are floating about. Nothing lame in having seen them just once.....

Walking (or should I say being dragged kicking and screaming) down Oxford Street yesterday, I thought I would go in HMV and try the ticket section in there, I know it was a long shot.

I spoke to the guy in the first shop, he looked and couldn't find any. He said to me did I pre-order the CD and get the link, I said yes, I carried on to tell him how my card details were entered and then I got booted out and tickets were still in my shopping basket for two days. He said he was sorry no tickets were available to me, then advised me, get this, to cancel the pre order for the CD! Great advocate for HMV that. Needless to say Backspacer's HMV order was cancelled shortly after I didn't get tickets. Idiots!

I also agree people who missed the deadline shouldn't be added to the list. It's not fair on the rest of us who have been here from the start. It's a real shame but rules are rules.

Dont think my nerves could hold out trying to buy tickets for 50 shows, its the most stressful thing in the world and then takes a few months to get over the disappointment of missing out! If Ticketmaster would allow me easy access to 50 shows (and the cash) I'd be there!!
