I'm going to Seattle the weekend of Lolla for a wedding...crapy timing! I'm hoping PJ doesn't play Alpine before Lolla...otherwise, I might just have to skip the wedding!
Damn weddings...
Weddings happen all the time my friend. PJ at Alpine Valley well that only happpens every few yrs.
It ain't gonna happen. Lollapalooza is on a weekend and Alpine only has weekend concerts. PJ isn't going to come back to the midwest or stick around the midwest for a week to play alpine once or twice.
I thought about that today and I believe there's virtually no way alpine will be played.
I disagree, and it's not just because I really want to see an Alpine show this summer.
Most likely, Pearl Jam will only play one night at Lollapalooza (as headlining acts have done in the past). That leaves at least one night that weekend open as a possibility for them to play Alpine Valley.
Also, it isn't unheard of for them to leave a general area, only to return a little while later. In '00 they played Indianapolis during the first leg of the tour and Chicago during the second leg. In '03 they played Champaign, IL during the first leg of the tour and Chicago during the second leg. On the '06 tour, they played Chicago in mid May and Milwaukee in late June. The idea of them playing, leaving, and coming back a few weeks later isn't so hard to imagine. It's happened plenty of times in the past.
So don't lose hope. I'm not saying that they definitely will play Alpine Valley this summer, but it doesn't seem very far-fetched.
OMG i just listened to Alpine 2003. The crowd sings the "id rather be" part of animal!
Someone said that after they played RVM was when the crowd really came alive. I think the whole show the crowd was fucking amazing. And it still ranks as the best crowd I've been apart of for a Pearl Jam show. It's the only bootleg I still get goosebumps when I listen to it.

I agree and concur with your entire post. The crowd at this show was just in an unbelievable mood. Best overall concert experience I've ever had. I was there very early (to get my tix), hung out on top of the Winnebago we rented and watched the fans stream in all afternoon. Everyone was so damn excited about the show and just in a ridiculously positive mood. I stayed in the hotel on site and the good times really carried over for the rest of the night.
I'm really hoping they can play Alpine again, SOON!
The Alpine Valley Music Theatre may not be around after this summer as there are abundant rumours of Condos, Condos and more Condos being built to replace the best music venue in the United States. :(
Pretty depressing if you ask me.
I sure hope Pearl Jam play a couple of nights there this summer before it's too late to ever return to beautiful East Troy, Wisconsin.

This should take care of your concerns.
Not Going Anywhere, Anytime Soon
As mentioned above, Alpine will not be getting torn down. Many of you have heard from "reliable sources" that Alpine is getting shut down and the property will get used for a water park, condos or expansion of the golf course. It is unknown to any of us who originally started the rumors or why, but one thing we can assure you is that we aren't going anywhere, anytime soon. It's true that we only had 4 shows in 2005 and 6 shows in 2006, but that is no indication that we are shutting down and we're working harder than ever to bring in more acts.
Got a very bad feeling this morning Alpine won't happen this yr. Don't ask why just feeling some negative waves about this. I hope I'm wrong and PJ comes back to Alpine.
With Lolla happening I kinda think that's the closest they might come to Alpine this yr. I'll keep the faith going but it's starting to get cracks in it.
After that let down of a Badger loss yesterday a PJ at Alpine show announcement would be the best cure I can think of.

I was listening to the Alpine 2003 bootleg last night. I've been around for MANY sing-a-longs to "Betterman", but none of them have come close to that night! I want to feel that again!

That's two WHOLE states that are normally very loyal that got screwed out of full PJ.
It will happen. Keep the faith.
Yep I heard about that too.
*edit* Why the heck are you smiling in your reply of MAYBE Pearl Jam not playing Alpine?
