Guess I'm the anomaly. I'll try it again, but found myself wondering when the album would end. I really liked The Getaway, but only a handful interest me so far. Can't remember which song it was, but sounded exactly like Sick Love in one part.

I do not find this album near as good as Gigaton, but thought their last album blew away anything PJ had done since the mid-2000s.
Uhmm I haven’t gone back to Gigaton since it’s release, it did nothing for me! But UL has everything I like Flea’s & Chads work way better than anything Jeff & Matt did on Gigaton IMHO..
I have to agree. Not even close for me.

I think the new Chilis is getting overhyped some. Solid return but the weakest Frusciante album by a large margin and as typical with the Chili’s would benefit from a more selective track selection.

As an artistic statement and attempting to chase the muse, Gigaton slays UL. Strongest PJ album since Avocado to me.

Could not agree any more with this. Gigaton craps all over Unlimited Love for me, but I'm glad people are enjoying the new Chilis stuff.

Love that is is an all analog release, wonder if PJ will ever take pride in a vinyl release and produce one AAA

It’s all just a matter of personal perspective & opinion! Im no authority on what’s good and not , but only what I feel when I listen to an album UL has all that I like in music to my ears! Gigaton just doesn’t.

I liked Gigaton but I'm loving Unlimited Love. So happy JF is back! His style just fits so well with Flea. Should be an amazing tour!

Never heard gigaton. The couple songs sound good live and liked the imagery on DOTC. Love pj. But it has it's limits. Picked this lp up because of all the brainwashing here. Don't have it yet but looking forward to it. Lost touch with RHCP after bssm. Always room for some funky fun songs.

Just with covid around and stuff it killed my enthusiasm. maybe even attached itself to a bad time in my life. Who knows. I love pj and hope that spark gets reignighted someday. I'm sure there are 100 new fans to take my place.

For me personally I sometimes get myself overhyped for a new album from a band I love which sometimes leave me a bit disappointed. Happens with PJ and RHCP for sure, but most times I’ll find myself loving an album 5 years later even though I was meh about it initially. Blood Sugar Sex Magik is my favorite album of all time, I was 11 when it came out, probably 12 when it hit my radar and I loved everything about it ever since (best album cover of all time as well IMO). Probably wore the 3 cassettes of it out playing it over and over again playing SNES lol. Likewise wore out some copies of it on CD as well. It took me along time to not try and compare all the Frusciante albums to BSSM and to try and listen with a different ear and while I don’t always love everything they do I love the musical journey they’re on. Is Unlimited Love a bit over hyped? Probably a little IMO (maybe a bit too mellow?) but I truly appreciate that this band I fell in love with 30 years ago is still making a go off it. Also I do like it more than Gigaton but I’m sure after i see some live Gigaton I’ll be all in.

I prefer Gigaton to Unlimited Love. I still listen to it fairly regularly, it was spinning earlier this morning in fact.
UL is growing on me, but it didn't have the impact on me that Gigaton still does.

I wish I could enjoy Gigaton as much as UL.  It just doesn't do it for me...

UL is an album I can just put on play and enjoy.  Seems cohesive.  It just flows...I'm just diggin it...

I agree. Sounds like an actual album that was recorded by a band , together.

Haha same here. For me chili peppers are more of an album band. I’ve enjoyed all their output lately , unlike PJ. PJ is the ultimate live experience. That’s where they excel for me personally, unlike the chilis

For sure. That’s not a bash towards them. They are super energetic and entertaining  live. But I don’t the same feeling that I do at a Pj show. A feeling that’s made me travel all over to see them, attend as many shows as possible during any given tour.

I haven't seen the peppers since 2000.  We saw four shows in 11 months.   We wanted to do something bigger for new years 1999.  I wanted to go see KISS play in Vancouver.   Friend of mine loathe's KISS so he looked for any kind of alternative to convince me to do.  We ended up driving from Vancouver Island to LA to see the peppers new years eve show.  It was really good and I'm glad we did it.

Then we went to the Show in Vancouver in May where the Foo Fighters opened.  The Foo Fighters mopped the stage with them.  Way to much energy to be the opening act.

Then at the end of of the year RHCP opened the two PJ shows in Seattle, and they were really good again with their tight 1 hour sets.

But that was it... I stopped going to RHCP shows after that run.   I am digging the new album.  Maybe I'll go if there's a Vancouver date.

Does anyone else have a colour variant that is a rather noisy pressing? I have the orange vinyl and even after a cleaning there is quite a bit of surface noise. Or perhaps I should ask - anyone with the deluxe black vinyl, is it a clean pressing?

I think it’s the ones pressed in Canada? are noisy the and ones pressed in Germany Aren’t

what I’ve heard it’s less the color vs where it’s pressed

my orange one has some spots. It’s not terrible but the noise also doesn’t clean out
