I have to admit, I don't spend a lot of time reading or responding to posts ... but this one caught my attention and I've been laughing out loud for several minutes while I wade through the pages and pages of humorous responses. Some of you had some great one liners that may have been quickly passed over due to the flood of other responses, but i have to tell you - My cheeks hurt from laughing so hard. Thank you for making me smile!
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V
Shut the hell up to everyone bitching about the length.
After everything this band does to treat their fans well, everything they have done for us over the years, Ed touring solo, all the charities, just everything.
This band dosent owe you anything. They do their part, they work at their own pace. The one thing PJ has always done is put their heart and soul into their music. If they feel that they wanna do an album with 1 song that is 3 minutes long, that is their choice.
Get off your high horse, elitist. Ive been rocking out to this band as long as any of you and you aint gonna find me bitchin. Maybe you should take a step back from posting on this message board, stop counting how many post you have, and go turn on a couple of PJ cds and lose yourself in the music like you did when you first got into this band in the first place. At that point, you may once again realize that Pearl Jam is not a conventional band, they are an independent band that does things their way. They aren't here to please the masses, they are here to please the fans that "get it". The fans that understand and will support their decisions.

this album could be one 18 minute song and could only be avaialble at wal-mart in anchorage alaska, and i am going to pick it up and fucking love it :ugeek:
if the past 18 years are any indication, my above statement is completely accurate
SAY IT AIN'T SO!!!!!!!!! AND YOU KNOW THERE'S MANY SONGS FROM THIS SESSION TO CHOOSE FROM. WHY NOT THROW A COUPLE MORE ON THERE? I DON'T UNDERSTAND THESE GUYS SOMETIMES. IF THEY'RE NOT GIVING US A "FULL" LENGTH ALBUM THEN WE SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY FULL PRICE FOR IT. I DON'T CARE HOW GOOD THESE LITTLE 2-3 MINUTE SONGS ARE (OR AREN'T). YOU'D THINK WITH A BAND LIKE THIS AND IN A TIME WHEN OUR ECONOMY IS LIKE THIS, THEY'D GIVE US A REASON TO GIVE THEM OUR MONEY AND GIVE US OUR MONEY'S WORTH. I'D SAY THIS ONE HAS ABOUT $7-$8 WORTH OF MUSIC ON IT. BUT INSTEAD WE'LL HAVE TO PAY FULL PRICE FOR A VERY SHORT CD. AND USING INTO THE WILD AS A COMPARISON DOESN'T COUNT. THAT WAS DIFFERENT. I HOPE AND PRAY THAT THIS GERMAN MAGAZINE HAS RECEIVED FALSE INFO, BUT IF NOT, WE DESERVE MORE.
How selfish can you be? This band has been making music for nearly 20 years, do you know how many bands have been around for 20 years and still make music? Be happy they are actually still making music. Im sure the info from that magazine is false, but still. Ill take whatever I can get from them. Im excited to get my Christmas single from them every year, I dont complain it only comes with 3 songs, I skip around in joy, I listen to Got Some everyday when I get home from school, its not something for us to get mad about how much music they release.
Target has a great way of working out bonus discs and extra song tracks for exclusive purposes. Not many have considered that. I knew there would be a bitch fest. NOt that I have issue with anyone having a opinion of there own but nothing is released yet.

Maybe a b-side bonus disc.
Kelly Curtis hinted that Sonic Reducer might be available in some way. Who knows.
Ya know, last album some folks grumbled about no B-Sides but the album was longer. This time the album is shorter with possible B-Sides. I'm just happy for new PJ and a tour in 2010.

I agree. I am just happy for anew album and I also look forward to the reissues.
When St. Anger was released, the CD had a sticker that said "78 Minutes of all new Metallica!!".
We all know how that turned out.
Might of not of been a great album, but bang for your buck ($13.99cdn) it included a bonus DVD of the whole record, played live in their studio. I thought that was cool. "The Unnamed Feeling" imo, is the best track on that record.
"First week sales of the album were 417,000 copies!" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Anger
Pretty good, if you think about it. A band that totally went after their fans for downloading their albums free online. You would think a boycott or something. But that didn't happen.

Pardon my ignorance, but I don't understand your reply. "So it had to be sth for You if U decided to answer:)"
I don't know if you misspelled the word you were trying to type (sth) or if it is some abbreviation I'm not familiar with. Can you help?

demetrios
Yeah, what a horrid heap of hinny waste that was. Of course, most of their music post-thrash is uninspired imho.
In the end, it's all about the quality of songs and hopefully a couple of b-sides.
But we all know that if Pearl Jam sang drunken a cappella for 78 minutes, every moment would be pure gold irregardless.
