SAY IT AIN'T SO!!!!!!!!! AND YOU KNOW THERE'S MANY SONGS FROM THIS SESSION TO CHOOSE FROM. WHY NOT THROW A COUPLE MORE ON THERE? I DON'T UNDERSTAND THESE GUYS SOMETIMES. IF THEY'RE NOT GIVING US A "FULL" LENGTH ALBUM THEN WE SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY FULL PRICE FOR IT. I DON'T CARE HOW GOOD THESE LITTLE 2-3 MINUTE SONGS ARE (OR AREN'T). YOU'D THINK WITH A BAND LIKE THIS AND IN A TIME WHEN OUR ECONOMY IS LIKE THIS, THEY'D GIVE US A REASON TO GIVE THEM OUR MONEY AND GIVE US OUR MONEY'S WORTH. I'D SAY THIS ONE HAS ABOUT $7-$8 WORTH OF MUSIC ON IT. BUT INSTEAD WE'LL HAVE TO PAY FULL PRICE FOR A VERY SHORT CD. AND USING INTO THE WILD AS A COMPARISON DOESN'T COUNT. THAT WAS DIFFERENT. I HOPE AND PRAY THAT THIS GERMAN MAGAZINE HAS RECEIVED FALSE INFO, BUT IF NOT, WE DESERVE MORE.

    Quality, not quantity.

Look at the bright side, if it sucks it won't take long to listen to.

    don't buy it then.

I dont think the band has a scheme to charge $0.42 per minute of music as opposed to $0.33.

They are going to do whatever feels right artistically. Maybe make a few bucks on an album as well.

Please wait to hear the final product to be this critical.

I don't know if you remember last time this place became a bitchfest - it was because there was only partial information out there. Take it easy, and be patient. Maybe there's more to the story, maybe it'll be a particularly affordable (cheap) album, maybe they'll be including a DVD with it. So many different possibilities on how this release could go. And if it does turn out to be a single 37 minute album with nothing else included at a full price, by all means, don't buy it. Just because you're a big fan of a band doesn't mean you've sacrificed the ability to think for yourself, and decide where to spend your money on your own.

Finally, WHY DO YOU HAVE TO WRITE EVERYTHING IN CAPITAL LETTERS? DO YOU HONESTLY THINK IT HELPS YOU MAKE A POINT?

You are right. Pearl Jam should just throw this music out. I mean, if they can't give me 70 minutes of music, they should just break up and move out of the country.

    This complaining is PaThEtIc.

And P.S. Dont be surprised if this album is in the 6.99-9.99 range at Target. That's quite often how these deals work.

Guess it'll be in the 14.99-17.99 range through Ten Club then, plus $4 shipping to Canada. Sad thing is, that's how I'll be getting it

Well, I'm still excited for the new album... :)

Me too, if it was 10 mins I'd be excited...any new music from this band excites me...and thats why I refuse to listen to bad quality recordings of new songs, I had listened to spoilers from albums before avocado and been left with a feeling of something missing when I got the album, with avocado didnt listen to any (bar the letterman songs) and was blown away by the album.

The OP needs to chills the fuck out and take the sense of entitlement and put it the box from the SDE Ten

Well, it's probably really only like 20-25 minutes long because I heard the last track has a hidden track like ITW where there is llike 10 minutes of empty space. Oh yeah, I have no sources, it's just a guess.

I honestly can't believe the menatlity of some people.

    1)You don't deserve shit
    2)This band owes you nothing.

You haven't even heard a single cut off of "Backspacer" yet and you are complaining that you are getting screwed.

What the hell is wrong with you?
Go listen to Emerson Lake and Palmer if you want some bloated Ben Hur epic.

Sgt. Pepper was just over 38 minutes long and It's widely considered to be the greatest album ever made.

    Size does not matter.

If it is only 36 minutes, I will be disappointed. Their best song in years is Inside Job and its a long epic; we need more of those. I get a little tired of the short punky songs; somebody in the band tell Ed to quit it.

IMO the best live version of Inside Job is from Vegas 2006. I was at that show and listening to it still gives me chills. :)

Inside Job is long, but it's far from epic. It just takes awhile to get goin.

This doesn't rule out that we could still have a longer 5-8 minute track on "Backspacer".

Queens of the Stone Age's "Rated R" clocked in at barely 40 minutes (11 songs)
Most of the songs on the album range around 2:30 seconds however..."I Think I Lost My Headache" is like 8 minutes long and is fucking epic.

    That album was brilliant.

The Stooges "Fun House" is another short but awesome album

Do I even have to mention THE RAMONES????? C'MON!!!

Who cares if the album is short?
The only thing that matters is if the songs are good....which I'm sure they will be.

I have a really great feeling about this album.
