LIVE - same singer, new band
Read an interview with Chris Shinn recently about his new AMAZING solo album where he said the lead singer for LIVE fired the entire band earlier this year and is out with a new band. This after they let go of Chris and brought the OG singer years back? Man, what the fuck!? Wondering if they will continue the catalog…

Songs that sound like other songs
What song sound like another song, when you hear it on the radio? Example 1. My Chemical Romance song "I don't love you" reminds me of the begining of Coldplay's "Yellow."

The WEEKS
The WEEKS is one of my favorite bands out there. They hail from Jackson, Mississippi and now reside in Nashville. They have signed on with Kings of Leon's record label. I have brought them up in conversation before but never had a thread about them. They have been working on some new songs but here are some from albums…

Tonic - Lemon Parade Revisited
This record will always occupy a special place in my heart. End of high school, transition to college. I had a 3 hour drive home and would just blare this. Fast forward much further along in life and the dudes revisit the record acoustically. The production on it is simply sublime. I adore how they filled the spaces left…

First Aid Kit
Anyone heard of this band? If you're a fan of The Civil Wars, Head & The Heart, Shovels & Rope, The Heartless Bastards, Fleet Foxes or just good, mellow folksy/americana music, I highly recommend these girls. Looks like they could be on their way to big things as they've recently recorded a single for Jack White's Third…

Swans
Any fans? Anyone who likes dark, brutal music would do well to check them out. Heavier and more disturbing than any metal band. They started off being really noisy, with slow, relentless crushing chords and bellowed vocals. After a few albums they discovered melody and starting bringing some acoustic guitars and keyboards…

EXTREME (band)
Has anyone ever heard of Extreme, they were a band in the 80-90's. Their biggest hit was "More Than Words." Anyway, the only album I heard was III Sides to Every Story, and it was awesome. A lot of political songs that would be appropriate these days.

Nirvana
Been on a Nirvana kick lately since I have been reading a book on them and got the Unplugged DVD. I think out of all bands that dont exist anymore, I would most want to see them live. Their shows had so much energy and you never really knew what to expect from them. Thinking about them makes me miss the 90's and wish that…
