I'm not a fan by any standards, got none of their albums and don't like what I've heard so far. This electro-thing on Sleeping With Ghosts really scared me away. I thought the only thing how I could get into them would be if they started being a real rock band and from what I've heard about Meds that seems to have happened. I saw the video for the first single recently and it actually sounded pretty good. The album's out on the 10th, isnt it? I might pick it up, not sure yet.
Well, do you need a lot of what you've got to survive?
i'm a fan. saw them live a few years ago and it was an incredible show! they have some great on stage energy. sleeping with ghosts is my fave album from them.

OMG Dolly, YOU also like Placebo?! They seriously kick ASS!! i haven't seen them live of course, but their music is truly spine tinglinly!:)
Every You, Every Me, is one of my favorite songs from them. Has anyone seen their version of Where Is My Mind? w/Frank Black from the Pixies?! That version always gives me goosebumps!:)

Are there any Placebo fans here? PJ's my favorite band and I was wondering if any other PJ people are into this band.
I LOVE Placebo....they are such a great rock band.......Black Market Music was a great cd......Nancy Boy, an older song, is great!
I have seen them several times.....great live band.
I love how prissy/bitchy Brian sounds at times!
They are a true European rock band...great beats, style, a flashy stage show!
Nice to see that you people are adventurous.....I was thinking that everyone on these boards sat at home, still crying over Shannon Hoon and Layne Staley!

Anyway, I haven't listened much to Sleeping with ghosts, or their self-titled debut. But Black Market Music and Without You I'm Nothing have gotten plenty of spins in my cd player.
The main thing about them that I like is that the words almost have a rhyme to them, but sometimes not.
Never seen them live though, probably should, if they even tour the states that is.

The Vancouver show with Idlewild opening, perchance? I was at that one, which was incredible. I didn't know much more than a few songs at the time, but it was really enjoyable and they played something like a 10-minute long version of Pure Morning for the first song of the encore. Brian was really happy with the crowd response ... not a typical, tame Vancouver crowd (despite the overwhelming pot smell ). I hope they come back, but it's so expensive for bands that don't have radiohead or Coldplay-like status to come overseas.

the one i went to was in '03 and i think eagles of death metal opened for them, it was at the commodore, and it wasn't idlewild (love them!), i would have remembered that they did do lot of jams and finished with their pixies cover of where is my mind. we'll have to meet up for their show next time they're in town!

Saw them live and they all looked really bored, then Black Market Music was shit and I lost interest.

Ah, okay ... the show I went to was in 2001.
It'd be sweet if they could come back.
They are playing a 6,000 seater in L.A.........doubt they can even fill 1/3 of the venue but still excited to see them!
