Brandon Boyd's Solo Album

Haven't seen this posted, don't know if anyone cares, but Brandon Boyd of Incubus released a solo album recently, I think last week. It wasn't really advertised, and it seemed no one really knew he was recording it and he kind of unexpectedly announced its release via his twitter page.

Very good album IMO. It's not quite as good as ITW, but for him playing all of the instruments and writing all of the songs I was pretty impressed. I really am enjoying it.

Anyone else?

    i absolutely love it.
    now my top 3 favorite singers/writers each have a solo album. (eddie, chris cornell, brandon)
    and when i refer to chris cornell i mean his euphoria morning album which was a brilliant masterpiece. not his other two solo albums. but anyways ..

    i think this really showed brandon's all around abilities as an artist. there's some really unique stuff on this album. his voice sounds better then ever too. currently my favorite song is a night without cars. great stuff. can't wait for some new incubus

    Can you confirm he played all instruments on the album? I'd certainly have a listen if that s the case

    there's an interview on youtube where he states that he does. i believe that whoever produced it may have played some keyboards but brandon does all the guitar and purcussion, etc...

    There is also a letter he wrote to his fans about the album. If you go to the webpage for the album (just google the wild trapeze) the letter is either on the page or there is a link to the letter. He explains why he made the album, and talks about some songs. He states clearly that he played all of the instruments on the album, except a few keyboard parts which the guy that recorded and produced it did. I'd look it up but I'm too lazy right now, sorry :D

    my wife & i were just talking about this when Incubus came up on the iPod during a road trip. i'd be curious to see what it sounds like. might have to check it out!

    Only got it yesterday, but I'm loving it!

    You can see why he's recorded these tracks on his own solo album & not on an Incubus.

    Good work Mr Boyd.

    Now get cracking with the new Incubus album!!

    I'm digging it too. There is a thread on this somewhere recently under new incubus/bb.... but no biggy.
    My fav song is courage and control which is the simplest. Runaway train is good too. This truly fits under the category of a solo album which I like. Brandon has stated several times (in response to people complaining about the sound)......the recording was done as is purposely. Its a little rustic and raw sounding.

    Ironcally i had a the chance to chat with brandon's mngr as he was in NY working on the solo record. I too at the time was working on a solo record in a very similar format,...playing and writing all parts. I of course had no label to pay for it nor am i in a big famous rock band lol!! May I shamelessly plug??? 5 of the 10 tracks from my solo record are here (1 thru 5)

    i'm gonna give this a bump because i'm finding this album so brilliant. brandon is the fuckin man. his style has always been so unique and everything about this album shows that. it just gets better and better.
