  • Yes he did. He played my companies private party in Lanai. He hung out afterwards for a few hours and had drinks around the pool. The setlist was typical Ed solo list, but more covers - i dont have it exactly but was being texted throughout. I have a photo of him playing with one of my VP's sons.

    This is 100% confirmed.

What company? What venue? That would have been great to see.

post that picture - since its not an EV solo show it shouldnt be a problem...
  • They were the Four Seasons resort in Lanai. The party was for the top 100 Oracle sales reps in the world. So it was very exclusive.

How do I upload the photo?

Post it before this thread gets locked, like the other one.

All I can say is, I hope Ed picked that corporate pocket bigtime, and of course donate all the money to charity. It would be the right thing to do. :D

  • Our guests typically take home over $300K at the general type of awards trips. This one being more exclusive, I would imagine he got more than that for this.

I hate to echo what others have mentioned in the locked thread, but it looks like Ed corporately sold out big time. UNLESS he donates it all. Who knows what he would do anymore.

Is the photo online? If so, when you reply, hit the Img tab, and copy & paste the URL of the photo in between the brackets. I don't know how to do it any other way.
  • Give me a site to publish to and I will put it online. I honestly don't know how to do this.

You're right, he totally did.

What if he did donate all the money he made to one of his favorite Org's, and I believe this to be realistic. Don't you feel like an ahole for calling him a sell out. I realize you said as much but the emphasis of your post and many other people around these parts are to question the ethics of ed and the band first. I just don't get that.
  • I don't really blame him at all. He was probably already in Hawaii and he gets to go pick up a few hundred grand for a short set to a small audience, then gets to hang out and stay at the Four Seasons in Lanai for free. Who wouldn't do that? I sure as hell would.

And, for the record, i would too. But you wouldn't hear me rail about corporations for 15 years before I took that money. :)

Hmmm.... I just put three minutes of hard thought into this.

Eddie Playing for a room of people that dont know anything about him other than the Jeremy video should be as comfortable as me I going to a church in Kansas or Colorado Springs to give a talk on Evolution. Let me just say, I wouldn't fit in and it wouldn't be in my top fifty target audiences. So, the goal at a church would be singular - and that would be to try to get people to open their eyes. Since that would be futile, there would be absolutely no point to be in front of the congregation. Now, if there was money involved, it would be all about the money.

But if it is all about the music and the connection with the crowd, well, wait, no, that wouldn't be present at the church.

    I am confused.

How does anybody know that the room was full of people who know nothing about him? This is a band that has been around for almost 20 years, has had huge albums, was at one time one of the biggest acts in the country and still might be today...and because these guys are sales reps they know nothing about any of that? Sorry, I can't believe that is true.

I have no problem with Eddie playing a concert for a company. My bet is that at least a portion of the funds went to charity, but even if that didn't happen, so be it. He is an artist and a musician, and he is paid to be both. No one should pass judgment on him for making a living.

I agree. I couldn't care less if it was a corporate thing--this is his livelihood--sounds like a great gig to me!
