Really strange after he’d just added another UK show to the tour.

Hope he’s well. The wording of the statement is very strange ‘I’ve decided to take a break’. Sounds very casual but I hope it’s not a cover for something bad.

Maybe it's just an "eat a peach" moment, of Neil realising he want's to instead get the band back together and record Mirrorball 2.

Yeah the statement sounds like someone who was thinking about going on tour rather then someone who already had the tour dates and tickets sold and decided now it’s not the time!

Neil is becoming like Morrissey in terms of cancelling!

At least Neil gives more than a few days notice!

eh. Neil actually did a whole tour last year.

I don't think Morrissey has done a complete tour in over a decade.

  • Not a bad replacement:

State Fayre are pleased to announce Alanis Morissette as their new headliner for Saturday 27th June, following Neil Young’s decision to take a break from touring. Additionally, Skunk Anansie have joined the line-up on the same day.

Weird coming in here, and no one has said a word about his new live album being available now on streaming etc,

I still haven’t picked up Coastal, TTN 50, or As Time Explodes. I’ll get around to it eventually, I just haven’t been getting excited about much music recently.

I'm just happy Neil is still with us and is still working and recording.  But I have limited (but adequate) income, limited (but adequate) space, and because of hearing damaged limited  capacity to listing to music (damn it!) as much as I used to, and Neil is doing fine (not a starving musician!), so I am fine with not buying much of his stuff these days.  I tend more and more as much as I can to support musicians and bands who are not so well off.

In any case, LONG LIVE NEIL YOUNG!

The thing with Neil is that you never know what kind of show he will put on. Expensive tickets and you might hear 20 songs you never heard of. Or he might blow you away. Mixed bag in my experience. But when he plays old black you know why you came to the show.
