I am getting dead space of about 25 to 90 seconds between every single track on PJ Radio, even between the short announcement snippets. Is anyone else getting that? It only happens between tracks, never in the middle of one. I timed some of them yesterday.

Of course we couldn't get silence between songs when we were trying to tape them off the radio.

Well if it's not the space between songs issue, it's a downed server, which we encounter way too often.
Actively waiting on server issue and wish I had an answer for that space between songs mystery but no one has been able to figure out where that's actually coming from. It does not happen on the front end here.  Thanks for your patience.

Rob, can we get rid of some of the old and well over played segways? This may reduce some of the dead space we have to suffer through...I'm 51 years old. I don't need to hear the Beavis and BH bit then 2 minutes of silence for the 1138th time this month...they weren't funny when I was 19. so many other things we can eliminate as well, its painful.

Anyone else noticed @NHiding has been MIA all week? It's been odd without his intros before the boots.

Really sad news from The Rob that his career is finished with PJRadio. I really hope this was a decision from Sirius and not the band, but at the same time I feel like the band could reverse a decision like.

    Best of luck The Rob!

You will be missed, Rob!  :'(

It Was A Good Run For Radio…

The inquiries have been coming in, so I’ll address the situation of no longer being heard on SiriusXM’s Grateful Dead and Pearl Jam Channels. The first thing I can say is what I’ve said from day one 18 years and 7 months ago, which was, “I’ll do it as long as they let me.” Well, they’ve decided to no longer let me.

A hell of a run for sure, filled with countless amazing times, people and experiences, many including possibly you reading this now. I miss being Jerry Garcia’s #1 advocate there and bringing folks what I felt were the best live shows on both channels, but other doors always open when one closes. The show goes on as they say, so I’m launching a substack at acidpalace.substack.com and keep your ears open for the forthcoming acidpalace podcast.

Thanks for all the listening, it’s greatly appreciated and I’ll see ya on the flip side.

No touring coming for a while so they do not need Rob to do the morning after show. Not a good sign..

Pretty sure they could do another mystery sale to pay his salary for a year or 2.

Hey All,  thanks for the good words..  Yes, my tenure at SXM is over but I'm still behind the operations at Ten Club Radio.  I'Il continue to address the silence between tracks mystery which is just as annoying and baffling for me, especially as no tech person has come up with any answer and it doesn't start at the base here with the system it all goes out from.
Keep in mind that it all started here with what is now Ten Club Radio, months before SXM came into the picture, and they've always been two separate entities.
So it's "Off He Goes" from SXM but "I'm Still Here" on Ten Club Radio.

I've tried to give the new guys a chance, but they're totally unlistenable.

I'm sure Jason is a hell of a nice guy, but he really needs... to... work on... his word... spacing.

And I'll never, never understand the lure of podcasting. Let's give anybody a microphone and an opinion and here's the 50th podcast about the same subject and the podcasters think they're stars when they get 30 downloads. (There's some stat out there where only 2% of podcasts get any amount of listeners worth writing home about.)

During whatever strike it was, people were like "OMG! You gotta listen to this podcast" and I'm like "yeah, give me the pros on an actual radio service." There's also a lot of podcasters out there and, I'm not sure if it's a fake voice they're putting on, but they're just absolutely painful to listen to. (Alix/Alex and those 3000 "True Crime Podcasts", I'm looking in your direction.)

Podcasters do not make good radio hosts.

Maybe it is just my connection, but there seems to be a sizeable difference in the volume levels on some songs. Some of them are so low that I need to crank up the volume, and then it goes back to a normal volume on the next song.
