They definitely aren't playing the same set each night. I'm only seeing them once in Chicago...hard to resist trying to hit all three shows but it's not going to work out.

Rush’s second night back onstage came with a message for anyone expecting the same show twice: this band did not spend 11 years away just to hit copy/paste.

At their June 9 show at the Forum in Los Angeles, Rush opened the same way they did on night one with “Xanadu” and “The Spirit of Radio,” but then started pulling from the deeper end of the pool. “The Analog Kid” showed up for the first time since 2013, “Leave That Thing Alone” returned for the first time since 2011, and “The Trees” got its first live airing since 2008.

Geddy Lee had already said the band planned to keep the setlists moving on the Fifty Something tour, noting that they had worked up dozens of songs with new drummer Anika Nilles. “For this tour, we’re starting from scratch,” Lee said recently, adding that Rush had to teach “an incredibly talented, exciting drummer” how to navigate “40 songs from this weird, idiosyncratic band.”

The night’s biggest swing came after intermission, when Rush played all seven parts of “2112” in full, including sections that hadn’t been performed live since 1997.

Full Los Angeles June 9 setlist:

    1. “Xanadu”
    2. “The Spirit of Radio”
    3. “The Analog Kid”
    4. “Freewill”
    5. “Subdivisions”
    6. “Bravado”
    7. “Leave That Thing Alone”
    8. “The Trees”
    9. “Headlong Flight”
    10. “Limelight”

    Set 2:

    11. 2112 Part I: “Overture”
    12. 2112 Part II: “The Temples of Syrinx”
    13. 2112 Part III: “Discovery”
    14. 2112 Part IV: “Presentation”
    15. 2112 Part V: “Oracle: The Dream”
    16. 2112 Part VI: “Soliloquy”
    17. 2112 Part VII: “Grand Finale”
    18. “Animate”
    19. “Closer to the Heart”
    20. “A Passage to Bangkok”
    21. “Time Stand Still”
    22. “YYZ”
    23. “Anthem”
    24. “Red Barchetta”
    25. “Witch Hunt”
    26. “Tom Sawyer”
    27. “Finding My Way”
    28. “Working Man”

    #Rush #GeddyLee

I was at that 1997 tour. Unless my memory is faulty, which is certainly a possibility, they played the entire 2112 album.

So on an off day in the middle of the 4 shows in Fort Worth is the Claypool Gold show. Keeping my fingers crossed for a Les appearance at the Rush show the day before and/or Geddy guesting with Primus.

I'd guess les will be there. They are bffs. Not sure how he would fit into a rush show unless he plays drums ;)

Yes. True. Primus is one of, if not the best.. pretty sure when I saw them once they played spirit of the radio. Rush will be mind blowing. Les and co will be mind altering.
You are in for a fun couple of shows for sure.

    Giddy---up!!

The Moving Pictures tour was my very first concert ever. I still have the ticket stub. It was $9.90. My friend's older sister took us.

I just looked at the back of the ticket stub. It was a coupon for Wendy's - a burger, fries and drink for $1.59. That makes me feel old.

The first and only time I saw Rush was in the mid-'80s.
I might go again this upcoming tour (I missed the tour starter at the Forum in L.A.) just to see Anika slay - I mean play - no, I mean slay!
Anika is sooo good and what a great personality she has.
Check out some of her interviews on YouTube - she is a great, postive and happy person - so rare theses days!
