    No kidding.   From having read a number of books by Charles Bowden (non fiction book about the border lands between the U.S. and Mexico) I learned more than I probably wanted to know about some of the insanely cruel things some humans do to other humans.  These are not easy things to read about or think about.  I'm guessing this things would apply to much of what you are referring to. Horrors.

    I can appreciate those feeling (and I probably wouldn't have said the a year ago).  And I'm pretty sure if I were black or brown I would have thought about that a long time ago.  It's hard to know what to do when safe literal or figurative islands of safety are accessible as refuges only to the very wealthiest.  More and more it seems like we're entering what for most of us in uncharted territory.  
    My biggest hope is that there are more of us who want an end to this madness than are OK with it, and that those numbers can make the difference.

    Update: As of January 8, The Trace has identified 15 incidents in which immigration agents shot someone and another 15 incidents in which agents held someone at gunpoint since the crackdown began.
