Just from following this thread it appears you use an outside fire a lot for cooking. Do you use the outside fire for alot of your meals. Think that’s pretty wild but also alot of work and I would assume you don’t live in a snowbelt area

It is cold, about 30ish F outside today. I just love being outside.

No snowbelt, single digits, or I'd be inside more for sure.

Above is just me romanticizing & never trying 'Chestnuuuuttttsss roasting over open firrrre".

Was going to make my green chili over the fire, but yes. A lot of work to build up the coals. So used propane grill.

Cooking outside adds a layer of flavor i can't get from a stove.
Hot chili in the cold winter air just does something for me.

I have a kitchen, but choose not to use it much.

Sorry for the long answer, but kind of hard to describe.
    ;)

lol appreciate the answer actually. I completely get it. I haven’t been camping in a tent in decades now, but when we did I loved cooking over an open fire and you do get some sort of an extra flavour it seems
the meals you have photos of on the forum look delicious and good. Keep doing what you’re doing, love it! 😄

After a few days of pizza I felt like I needed to make something a little healthier. So last night I made a savory shredded tofu dish with garlic, Thai chilis, scallions, and gochugaru. I also made some white rice and a smashed cucumber salad to go with it. It was my first time making it, and I thought it turned out really good. My vegetarian girlfriend also quite pleased. It was quite Larb-esque, if you've ever had that Thai dish.

Yea…. Tartare was amazing. Had authentic German food only once, schnitzel , forgot to get some pics..   I attacked it quickly after being out in the cold last night at these Christmas markets. It was heavy, on a bed of potatoes and gravy..I had to nap and shower again cause I felt gross before i went out last night .my hotel had amazing breakfast buffet… so I’d that every morning.. only really eat one more meal for dinner. It was a fun fun fun trip… Germans are very hospitable and I had a few adventures plus concerts were fantastic

Was out til 5am last night … took an uber to airport at 730am.. paying the price on my flight now, currently over Greenland…my mind is dreaming on what to eat when I get home and be lazy on my couch… prob a large pizza 🍕

I tried making some lamb kofta the other night and had leftovers, so yesterday morning I brushed some pita bread with olive oil & za’atar and stuffed it with the kofta, scrambled eggs, feta, sliced cucumber, tomato, pickled red onion, tzatziki, and finished with a little sumac. This was an awesome breakfast.

A mixture of condiments and vegetables I would never think of putting on a hot dog...

If you made it for me I would try it though.

Down in Chile is the only way we consume hotdogs! There’s chop shops where they serve them with tap beer specially in the capital and summer time like it is now

We have a butcher literally 2 minutes from my house and they specialize in smoked hams and they smoke the Hotdogs along with selling all cuts and different kinds of meats I mean all different kinds! The smoked hotdogs were the best I’ve ever eaten, they get all their meats from the farmers up there, it took all my willpower not to but the stuffed duck breast, next time I’m there I’ll get them
