It has also been my opinion of Biden. Capable but the optics were bad. Unfortunately our system has turned into a WWF event.

Capable but fly to europe and then the west coast and can't hardly speak.... it was visible to everyone, he was not ok. He might not have had many moments as bad as that, but I feel this is disingenuous of ,la.

This shouldn't even be a discussion. If travel of that nature is too taxing, then you're simply not capable of being president. Biden wasn't anymore. This isnt about dem or repub, it's a general rule of thumb all Americans should expect from the CIC. If "democrat" candidates want to win, they need to be speaking to people as a concerned citizen of the current issue/state of affairs and not against a republican. All Americans want to feel safe and be able to afford groceries, housing and healthcare. What steps will you take as a politician to make that happen, not what is someone else doing/not doing. Talk to people about their issues, not the issues of the Republican Party as it exists in this moment.

I agree with this, even though I still maintain he's more capable than trump cognitively. It's just annoying all the "he doesn't even know where he is" bullshit we've been hearing around these parts for months. Like all the experts here know how to diagnose dementia from their keyboard.

exactly...and I've mentioned before that my Dad has early Alzheimer's and Biden does not fucking have that or "dementia"...he's just old and slower

I have personal experience as well and my understanding is completely different. Close acquaintances, plural, said that Biden flat out did not recognize them in that year, during extended discussions . That’s not due to someone being tired.

You should know the aging mind handles pressure differently, and it’s that pressure that likely triggered that awful debate performance. The majority of Americans not loyal to the democrats agreed in overwhelming numbers. By a mile, which should be disqualifying on its own it was that bad. Believe what you want.

I googled this "number of associates" claim and came away only with Seth Moulton at D-Day ceremony in France, and Clooney. But hey, maybe I'm out of my element. I don't, after all, use AI to help me form my opinions. lol

Americans rarely agree on politics. Outside of the extreme base, they absolutely agree on this. Yes, this forum is out of its element. It’s nothing more than magaD .

We are not going to believe the Bob Woodward and Jamie Harrison claims, because they were spoken to.

Harris is literally talking out of both sides of her mouth. I get there’s a social taboo against dementia, and since he declined to be tested, we can just stick with that avoidance and that wretched debate performance as proof he was unfit to serve.

why 65? that's actually pretty young by today's standards. Maybe an extensive health exam should be required, instead of an arbitrary number. Like how trans in sports should be handled.

If someone is mentally sharp there should be no limitations. That’s why we vote. 270 electoral votes is a fine test. Biden seemed fine in 2020 and perhaps he didnt have cognitive decline, perhaps he was just tired from four years on the most stressful job. A test could have been his friend.

62 is the earliest you can get retirement benefits, and 67 is the average retirement age. I’m splitting the difference there. I understand people above that to be capable. but let’s be realistic here we need people who are not so young and people who are not so old

My company has a mandatory retirement age of 71 (and as early as 55 if you qualify like I do). I'm not entirely sure why that is, or how they came to that specific age for that. I'll have to ask.

Life experience is a pretty big factor I think, the type that comes with wisdom and time, whereas cognitive ability at an older age can vary wildly.

I totally get the argument, I just think they're kind of apples and oranges.
