This is the remarkable true story of how long-time Missoula residents Chris Bacon, Andy Kemmis, Ross Peterson, and a small army of other volunteers overcame, with perseverance and determination, obstacles like lack of funding, bureaucratic red tape, geographic limitations, and more to create a non-profit organization that has assisted in the funding and creation of nearly fifty skateparks in the state to date.

This #FollowUpFriday, we're revisiting our friends at #MontanaPoolService, who received a $50K grant from #AWMH as a #HelpingHands2024 honoree.
Established by Pearl Jam’s Jeff Ament, MPS aims to build world-class skateparks and connect Montana's youth communities through skateboarding and the arts. MPS paired its passion with AWMH funding to bring skateparks to the Flathead Reservation, home to the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes.
We are also thrilled to share that this partnership led to Salish Kootenai College becoming one of our newly admitted Year 7 #MetallicaScholars Initiative schools!
