Yes, two different brave men rammed the stabber with shopping carts in the parking lot.
But, as it has consistently been reported, it wasn't until the legally armed Marine pointed his handgun at the criminal and repeatedly demanded he drop his knife that he finally did. Then several men jumped on the stabber and detained him for the cops.
It's also very significant to note that the armed Marine exercised the control and good judgement to not shoot the stabber.
Obviously, it was the fear of being shot that caused the attacker to drop his weapon, ending the danger to the public.

On average, how many guns do you and your friends own? Do you feel like you would still be alive if you didn't have a gun?seanwon said:
No, people who are mentally ill and have never been trained in proper gun usage and ownership equal crime and death. Somehow none of my guns, or guns owned by a hundred friends and acquaintances have ever been used for a crime much less used improperly at all. Weird. Why does it bother you that most here just want common sense gun laws? How long have the democrats been coming to take your precious guns away? Not one common sense law since Sandy Hookseanwon said:

My bad. That article has more details than what I read. So the rampage was stopped by shopping cart guy. The stabber was then cornered by another shopping cart guy and a gun guy and then dropped the knife.shecky said:

Yes, that's true. However, I have a news article that stated the security officer saw the gunman enter the lobby so he ducked behind his desk. The shooter then walked over and shot him.Gern Blansten said:

Had the security officer been trained and armed maybe he could've shot first - we'll never know.

again....possible...but if that was the gunman's first target then they were likely toast anyway. If security stands up and unholsters the weapon the gunman will act immediatelyshecky said:

Now imagine how many would have been killed if the assailant had an AR15 instead of a knife, like the trump supporter who shot up the Walmart in El Paso a few years back.0 -

It is no secret that the US has one, if not the highest, gun related homicide rate amongst developed nations. Fewer guns means less shooting. It is not complicated math. The only reason to allow guns is because other people have guns. Just get rid of them all.
Unfortunately, it will not change anytime soon and I am not sure there is a way to repair what has already been allowed. Politicians have tried and failed time and time again. I go back to my Japan example. You can get a hunting rifle after extensive background checks, but no handguns for civilians. Ever. They have crime, but less people die.0 -
Or to quote Bill Hicks from the early ‘90s: “England, where no one has guns: 14 deaths. United States, and I think you know how we feel about guns…23,000 deaths from handguns. But there’s no connection, and you’d be a fool and a communist to make one. There’s no connection between having a gun and shooting someone with it, and not having a gun and not shooting someone.”Get_Right said:Vitalogensia said:

New Uvalde school shooting records — nearly 12GB — come as part of a settlement in a yearslong lawsuit that news organizations, including ProPublica and Texas Tribune, brought against state and local governments. We continue to seek records from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Opposite. I am saying the culture can change. We have more conceal carry permits now than ever in NY and it never turned into the wild west.Merkin Baller said:

It is not what the anti gun people were touting. They expected to have shootouts on every street corner if CC was easier to get.0
